Earlier this year my friend Atik Yomin  (@othiqivmin) „challenged“ me to write an album consisting of tracks in odd meters only after listening to my track ‚Trickle’ which is written in 5/4.

Then in early September I got my hands on a decent trigger sequencer by Doepfer (Thanks to @synthetic-arts !) and to test it in depth together with my crazy Bigger Dumber Sequencer by Beers, I pretty much immediately started this odd times project, and three weeks later finished it. Believe me, I had a blast! 

First up, as always, is the last track I made. It comes in 8/8 – well, not really odd, but bear with me: my aim was to create a track that feels like an odd meter, but isn’t really, and in the end it comes back into balance, landing on a straight 4/4 rhythm.

Everything's a little chaotic despite the clear patterns and coordination as you wake up, sweep the room with your lidar, and start your dourly duty cycle, sweeping, turning, going forward, sweeping again. You do a lot of sweeping, it's what you were made for, after all.

Eurorack synthesizer, featuring two Saskian Gatekeeper modules and a great deal of noise. 

A Day in the Life of a Roomba

Bewildered was created on 28 November 2025 using a selection of Eurorack modules. The piece grew out of an experiment with a Krell patch—its self-generating, wandering behaviour became the seed for a slowly unfolding ambient landscape.

The track begins as a calm, drifting atmosphere, built from evolving tones and subtle modulations. Midway through, the structure loosens and momentarily falls apart, as if losing its center of gravity. Textures scatter, melodies dissolve, and the patch seems to unravel under its own autonomy.

Yet, out of this disarray, the elements gradually find each other again. The closing section gathers the fragments into a gentle, reflective resolution, letting the piece settle back into a soothing stillness.

I like Underground Dance and Electronically Based Music, primarily. Located in Dobbs Ferry (prior, I lived NYC and Boston before that). I use a mix of Analog and Digital Hardware Devices from across the decades and of course anything I can load up inside of Ableton Live (whatever the current version is).
