The feeling is known as the "call of the void" or "l'appel du vide" in French. It's more common than you might think and isn't always associated with suicidal ideation. In fact, in some cases it may be a defensive mechanism designed to spur you into action to ensure your safety by imagining the worst.

First Class samples Turbulence, one of my personal favorite artists out of Reggae paired with some really tasty chops I personally love.
