Rubber welcomes Swedish artist Towa Isling (towLie) under her skitungen alias. While some of you might be familiar with distorted drums and seething synth lines from the käfTen records founder, her skitungen project emits a more brazen energy. Längre än Långtån embodies Towa’s raw and DIY approach, but takes an unexpected turn towards the odd and dreamy. This results in a beautiful assembly combining Towa’s ethereal voice with satisfying weirdo beat music.
The 7inch, pressed on Rubber’s signature high quality white vinyl, is accompanied by a cover designed by Berlin-based multi media artist Puck Verkade.

‘Motion’ is the new EP release on PAN’s sublabel CODES from Belgian producer SKY H1.

Having previously collaborated with producers and collectives such as Bala Club and Creamcake, Brussels-based SKY H1 has since performed at the likes of multi-media 3HD Festival and Amsterdam’s Sonic Acts to high acclaim for her distinctly forward-thinking sound.

Drawing from a background of widely-varying musical tastes from Ambient to Grime, her own work is an amalgamation of emotive compositions of orchestral Elysian synths, often displaced with sparse percussive elements.

The new record, ‘Motion’ is a highly personal endeavour, constructed from the results of a turbulent time - where she describes it as ‘a flash of her emotional state over the last few months’. “It signi-fies leaving behind a period in my life and stepping into something new.” She explains.

Moving through bleak soundscapes layering vaporous choral synths, ethereal vocals and glassy, lucid tones crafted in complex structures, the record bears moments of melancholy as well as joy on tracks like ‘Tell Me’ and ‘I Think I Am’. “It's about going through the different stages of grief and accepting the positive effects the loss of someone can have on you.” She says. “It's about experiencing an intensely emotional time with a lot of ups and downs, and I think this is transparent in the way the tracks are ordered.”.

For our new tape reissue, we are very honored to present a limited remastered edition of 'Postcards From Arrakis' by legendary Belgian duo Bene Gesserit, first released by Ding Dong Records and Tapes in 1983. This reissue contains an unreleased version of "Funny Toys (Dedicated To Friends)" with Daniel Malempré on bass guitar.

Bene Gesserit is a husband and wife band founded by Trazegniet's natives Alain Neffe and Nadine Bal. Since the early 80's to this day, they have been both involved in several projects, as solo or in bands, like Human Flesh, Pseudo Code, I Scream, Japanese Genius, Subject or Cortex for Alain and Ornament and Crime Arkhestra for Nadine. Bene Gesserit's material was mostly self-released but had been also featured on various compilations and hosted by several labels like EE Tapes, Stroom, Minimal Wave, Calypso Now, etc.

The enigma of The Black Devil Disco Club:

More than 30 years after the first album, the ‘extremely rare disco masterpiece’ got a follow up, an epic journey into the deepest electronic disco, full of haunting vocals, warped lyrics, twisted yet melodic electronics and crisp disco beats.

In 2004 Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label released an album by Black Devil called Disco Club, a re-issue of a long lost supposedly ‘italo disco’ classic from 1978. Given it’s absurdly ‘modern’ sound many doubted it’s authenticity, some even suggesting that it was a collaboration between Richard James and Luke Vibert.

The real story is stranger still. Although credited to Joachim Sherylee and Junior Claristidge with executive production by Jacky Giordano, the album was actually the work of obscure French producer Bernard Fevre known only for his incredibly rare electronic masterpiece ‘The Strange World of Bernard Fevre’ and the even rarer ‘Earthmessage ‘ as sampled by the Chemical Brothers on ‘Got Glint?’ - from their ‘Surrender’ album (1999)

From 2006 new records have been released by Lo Recordings: innovative music so ahead of its time that Black Devil Disco Club can still be considered as avant-garde.

Black Devil Disco Club is still producing new gems and touring worldwide in the best clubs and festivals.

One thing’s for sure, you will never hear a more unusual or beguiling electronic dance music.
