In the 40's it was the Big Band sound. Songs you could sing along to and swing around the dance floor. In the 50's musicians like Bird and Diz got sick of just playing the melody and invented BeBop. Intellectually and soulfully challenging stuff... but they lost the masses to Rock n Roll. The 60's got all psychedelic baby! And Revolution was in the air! Miles and Trane and many more got far out, or angry, or both! But in the 70's, after the end of Flower Power and political revolution Jazz was all about the LURVE Baby. So come on... Put on your bellbottoms and platform shoes and dig the funky Jazz of the 1970's with The JazzFunk Machine!
