Affiliate Records lines up another essential release from the underground with Glenn Molloy – “The Void”, backed by a heavyweight remix from label favourite Doug Crawford.
The original mix finds Dublin producer Glenn Molloy in full command of the peak-time dancefloor. “The Void” is a chunky, driving slice of progressive house, powered by huge, insistent synth stabs and a soaring low-end groove. Deep pads and savage percussion weave around each other, while otherworldly FX and detail-rich sound design steadily crank up the tension. At the centre of the track lies a sublime breakdown that strips everything back to pure atmosphere before detonating into a euphoric release, pushing the crowd into that point-of-no-return moment every DJ is searching for.
Doug Crawford’s remix takes the track into darker territory, reimagining “The Void” as a brooding, futuristic breaks workout. His version leans on a growling sub bass that’s felt as much as heard, skittering drum programming and moody, cinematic textures. The result is a deep, heads-down roller that slots perfectly into those 4am sets where the energy is high but the mood is twisted and hypnotic.
