Working with Hans Albers is the gift that goes on giving.  We’ve known Hans pretty much since we started on SoundCloud and not only is he one of the most gifted musicians we’ve had the good fortune to run across (not to mention his arranging and producing skills) but also as nice a person as one could wish to know.

Whenever we send him a demo, our mantra is always “His arrangement won’t be at all what we’re expecting…it’ll be so much better than that”.  Invariably, we are correct in that assumption.  Very often, it doesn’t just end there, though.  Just when we think we’ve already got the best version possible, another idea will occur in that endlessly creative brain of his and he’ll send along some amazing variation.  

He’ll always say “It’s just for fun!” but it will always be brilliant and will always cause us to ask which would be the best one to post.  Occasionally, though, the additional version is so different from the first that it demands to be posted as a stand-alone track.  Such was the case with this, so we hope you’ll allow us the small indulgence of posting the same thing again, albeit in a totally new livery.  We’ll quite understand if folks decide not to listen as it is entirely the same song, albeit arranged in a totally different style.

Should you decide to stop and listen, hope you’ll see why we felt the need to post this wonderfully executed innovation.  Thanks so much for listening.  (Gary & Terry Reeves)

Having a little fun with my new Nord Stage 3 - all sounds except the percussion are native to the Stage 3 (synth and organ engine). No sequencers were used, but I did enjoy using the pitch stick.

Thinking a bit about a Black Swan event as I produced this, the 1st half representing life as usual, the event as a synth "solo" and the altered reality afterwards. Towards the end I was inspired somewhat by the soundtrack to Dunkirk as the planes harass the troops on the beach and I have to admit that Vangelis Chariots of Fire was on my mind throughout the track although I skipped adding any piano.

A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight. [according to Wikipedia]
