'Rethinking the River with a Gothic love song,’

There are reports of sounds echoing off the banks of the concrete channel the L.A. River
flows through on it’s fixed course. Described by residents as a hymn of quiet notes, a vapor
sometimes like that of a tiger, or a soft flutter of a pinned butterfly beating it’s wings against the
wall. These sounds seem to be traveling with a velocity different from that of other sound
waves, due to the huge amount of energy that they contain. A harmony with a warning, dusted
with a pretty pain.

Traveling through their waves, these sounds have been collecting in the spaces between
us, where reason ends and sins are saving. They have been stealing the swans’ songs, shining on
in the dark, and again giving our skulls a chance of peace, the notes cutting through the cartilage
down to a clean marrow core, leaving a bone with only its pure stone honesty.

There is a spell upon the L.A. River. Cast into our ears, a lullaby to give a voice to
secrets, a beet for the forgotten, a time to know the history of just one particular tear. This is it’s
story. One night, beneath a visiting moon, two witches moved in. The L.A.River is where they
now call home, balancing between the hunted and the hauntings. The girls are from an afterlife
of beauty. They are responsible for the sounds we have been hearing, conducting the love we
have been making. No one asked for names, the addiction to their noise has begun. A tattoo
across both witches' chests, BLACK FLAMINGO, is all.

BLACK FLAMINGO inked into hearts of the unknown. Where they came from, Jesus or
the most modern hover craft ever built, does not matter - they are here to stay. Just like Bashful,
Sleepy, Dopey, and the Third Monkey - ‘Speak Evil'-we happily accepted our fate and let
BLACK FLAMINGO play on.
