Recorded at the Historic R St Studio in Washington D.C. BFDS? started off 2019 with a prayer, a promise to forge the music forward and a session to lay down this version of the eponymous Black Folks Don't Swim? Theme.

 In their signature  jazz and R&B-inflected blue sound, every element of the song invites listeners into celebration. A communal chant, dreamy horns and flowing keys are carried by a tight grooving pocket in the bass and drums. Punctuating trumpet flourishes accent the  “They say Black Folks Don’t Swim, Who Don’t Swim? We Float”

For the Source is the anticipated full-length debut album of musical collective Black Folks Don’t Swim? who has been expanding their energy in and around the DC Metro area since their founding in early 2018.
