They sound like the old, weird Los Angeles, with strains of true surfing music, American harmonies, Sunset Strip backbeat and desert ramble filtered through Goldstar Sessioneers.Pre-fuzz pedal ‘electrified folk’ music and pop groups hitting the California sound with the tambourine on just the right beat.This group sounds like bungalows in canyons; hidden deco stairsteps peeking from leafy hillsides; kustom kars and dovetails and chicks in OP shorts with long, long hair, like a Dennis Hopper photo come to life. You look at their well worn Fender guitars, their real surfer tans, their dusty suede boots - and you see it’s a sound natural to them; This isn’t an act.

Anthem Part 2- Blink 182

Black Math is a three piece band from Durban, South Africa. The band consists of Tyla Burnett-Bass Guitar, Cameron Lofstrand-Guitar/Vocals and Acacia Van Wyk-Drums. They are just three friends who went to school together and share a deep love for loud and heavy music. Black Math formed in 2010, they have since then made a name for themselves in the South African music scene and have grown into the power trio that they are today. Their sound is raw, unforgiving and will punch you in the face when you least expect it. They have developed their own unique sound that draws from genres like garage rock, psychedelic rock, stoner rock, punk and heavy metal. Their shows are very high energy, intimate and full of head banging (you will most likely leave the show with a sore neck). They strive to keep their music sincere and original and avoid current trends in sound and genre. They stand against all things made to be consumed by the masses and try to create something new and interesting. Black Math tries to make music that is thought provoking for all who wish to listen.
