Tom Robinson (b.1950) is a songwriter and broadcaster who's released 14 studio albums and won two Sony awards for his radio work. He champions new independent artists on his podcast The BBC Introducing Mixtape on 6 Music and sponsors the music blog Fresh On The Net. He's also co-written songs with Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Dan Hartman over the years. The original Tom Robinson Band first became known in the 1970s as supporters of Rock Against Racism and LGBT rights, following their breakthrough hit  ‘2-4-6-8 Motorway’

Black Mountain Lights are a fifty fingered beast hailing from the Wirral Peninsula committed to creating audible delicacies for your listening pleasure.

The Band consists of:

Jonny Fowlds - Sings Stuff and plays Geetar

Daniel Trevithick - Plucks the hell out of lots of different instruments and makes noises with his mouth

Kate Geraghty - Chief fingerer of keyboards with a fine array of mouth noises

Neil Frost - Bangs and shakes a variety of items in a highly rhythmic fashion

Stephen J Fowlds - Plucker, growler, basher, blower and shaker of a selection of musical items 

Armed with infectious songs full of love and wonder, new psych-folk duo, Bird to Beast spin magic from the sounds of yesteryear to create something fresh and unique.

Their timeless melodies and soaring harmonies tip a hat to the pop nous of greats like The Beach Boys, Kate Bush and The Beatles as well as contemporary singer-songwriters like Rufus Wainwright and James Mercer.

The duo signed an album deal with Manchester indie MUK Records in November 2012 and released their debut single, the beautiful accordion-led, ‘To Lips From Lungs’ on Sept 8th as the lead track of a 3 track E.P. 

The single received its first radio plays by the likes of Steve Lamacq on his Radio 2 ‘Rock college’ show, Frank Skinner on his Absolute Radio show, as well as plays and a session on Ruth Barnes’ Amazing Radio show.

The self-titled debut album was made available digitally on MUK Records from the 14th of October with the physical format from 10th December. The band will be performing the album and signing copies at their Manchester launch show at The Castle in the city’s Northern quarter on Nov 4th. 

The second single, the double A sided ‘Elephant / Winter Snow’ will be released on MUK Records on 13th Jan 2014.
