It’s been a few weeks since the release of RSS Disco’s “Mooncake”. An album that weaves the fibers of wave, disco & cosmic music into a dense, glowing pattern of sound.
For “Mooncake Interpretations Pt.2”, RSS passed the knitting needles on to three (groups of) friends, so they would add their very own patterns to the waves.
Dutch DJ and producer Some Chemistry, (who also released on Bordello A Parigi), translates the mellow mood of ”Bay Owl” into a sweeping, hypnotic dancefloor cracker, glistening with atmospheric sounds and a touch of acid.

“Mooncake Interpretations Pt.2” will be released on December 2nd on Mireia Records, accompanied by remixes from Pose Dia and Skygirl.

D.S.D. serves up a brand new EP of nu-disco slammers to brighten up the darkest nights.

Think Of You kicks things off with a 5th synth riff, niggling acid and solid nu-disco drums in perfect combination. Deep, hypnotic and ideal for any set, any time.

Flash Atkins and 2 Billion Beats take Think of You and give it some oomph. The riff is amped up, drums are toughened and tension builds to the break before the acid and rave piano produce a hands in the air moment.

Elemental is a mid temp disco chugger pinned down by conga driven drums, a nagging sub and arp. Things build with a piano as pads and EFX cast their cosmic magic.

Just Can't Stop takes a funky bass, vocal stabs, key and brass samples to create a low slung slab of deep groove. Just when things can't get any better, the acid hits.

My Heart keeps the spaced out 4/4 funk alive with a wandering bass, trippy keys, big pads, sampled vocals and delayed arps. Late nights and early mornings never sounded so good.

They started in 2018 at the confluence of Parisian groove, Mediterranean riviera, and italo furia. Disco Paese played for Label as Bordello In Parigi, Gare du Nord, Le Goût du Son. Tecwaa is the solo project from York-based musician & DJ Paul Fawcett. With broad influences from early noughties Yorkshire raves, Detroit Techno & horror movie scores, the producer’s sounds are hard to pin down and bracket to any one particular genre. 

Exploring the intersections of chugging psychedelic, deep house, slow-disco & dub techno his evocative tracks specialize in that hard to pigeonhole late night/early morning sound, upending club dancefloors and soundtracking afterparty sunrises. That breadth is reflected in the four originals he’s crafted for MeO Notion, from mid-tempo acid breaks on “Many Fallen Skies” and “Solaris” to hyperspeed almost-jungle via “Long Past the Echoes,” and the utterly halucinogenic digi skank of “Î Terra Dub.”

With two mind-melting LPs for Scando powerhouse Höga Nord Rekords, as well as singles for Les Yeux Orange, Futureboogie and now Throne of Blood to name a few, we’re so glad to kick off 2023 with Tecwaa’s latest and dare we say greatest release yet.

All tracks mastered by the one and only Justin Vandervolgen.

Summertime is here and there's no better way to celebrate it!

"Blanco Sombra" is Syd dePalma's debut on Rotten City. An EP where love, hate, and fear converge at a single point. Featuring two original tracks, "Puerto Leone" and "Cuerpo, Sombra y Espalda," the Spanish producer, musician, and vocalist has delved into the darkness to extract every color, finding a wonderful balance between various elements such as light and darkness, with classic and new methods of composition and production. The result is a fluctuating blend of new wave, psychedelia, and post-pop, creating a sonic space comparable to the feeling of nightfall, where one cannot distinguish between their strengths and weaknesses, yet still feels comfortable in the ebb and flow of sensations between good and evil.

On the other hand, Delone, fascinated by the vibes of "The Knife" or "Fever Ray" in "Puerto Leone", has transformed the vocals from the original track into an abstract wall of sound that drives the remix as a backdrop. It is 100% focused on the club scene, yet avoids the typical 4x4 beat to transcend genres on this amazing journey of breaks and epic chords.

This one is a reminiscence to Patrick Nebel, who passed away in 1986 from a heart attack. He was head of "Nacht und Nebel", a prolific, innovative, powerful Belgian New Wave combo.

Their 1985 tune "Victoria 2000" was remixed by John Tilly back at the time - great 12". John Tilly was an active producer, studio engineer and arranger who also did some remixes, really underrated guy.

This edit is just a small hommage to Dance Music of the 1980s which was entirely different from Funk & R&B-based House Music and yet shares a common history to some extent.

The edit was done with Ableton, from the John Tilly Remix and the original version, fused to a new version, mastered by Herb LF.

The mysterious Windmill Edits sees an all too short slice of Dutch-sung electropop from '84 getting extended by way of a climactic breakdown and buildup with catchy pianos. Tried & tested, nobody sees this one coming, leftfield dancefloor heat. Flip over for cool warm-up vibes with a slow down disco flavor; the cherry on top are the Chaka Kahn-like vocals and heavy bass groove. Limited edition hand-stamped seven inches.
