Freeride Millenium kicks off its 2023 with an alluring new EP from Russian emigres Delicate Features with artwork, as always, by Daniel Rajcsanyi. Delicate Features is the moniker of composer Pavel Diakov and vocalist Radmila Nikogosian, a duo who have recently fled their native St Petersburg. Since making their debut in 2012, they have released music on this label as well as Cellar Tapes and Not Not Fun Records, exploring immersive soundscapes that invite listeners deep into their world. The events of the last year have led to the pair fleeing their homeland in search of a place that better represents their ideals and can provide the artist freedom they require.

APPAREL PREMIERE: Delicate Features - Melting Dream [Freeride Millenium]

Tecwaa is the solo project from York-based musician & DJ Paul Fawcett. With broad influences from early noughties Yorkshire raves, Detroit Techno & horror movie scores, the producer’s sounds are hard to pin down and bracket to any one particular genre. 

Exploring the intersections of chugging psychedelic, deep house, slow-disco & dub techno his evocative tracks specialize in that hard to pigeonhole late night/early morning sound, upending club dancefloors and soundtracking afterparty sunrises. That breadth is reflected in the four originals he’s crafted for MeO Notion, from mid-tempo acid breaks on “Many Fallen Skies” and “Solaris” to hyperspeed almost-jungle via “Long Past the Echoes,” and the utterly halucinogenic digi skank of “Î Terra Dub.”

With two mind-melting LPs for Scando powerhouse Höga Nord Rekords, as well as singles for Les Yeux Orange, Futureboogie and now Throne of Blood to name a few, we’re so glad to kick off 2023 with Tecwaa’s latest and dare we say greatest release yet.

This EP encapsulates the fusion of music and the ambient sounds of the world, reflecting the organic bleed between environment and melody. Much like sculpting or refining a rough rock, each sound is meticulously shaped and processed, revealing the hidden artistry within.
Through techniques like timestretching, notion of time's stability being unraveled, echoing the volatile sensation experienced during the uncertainty of travel, where the endpoint remains unknown.
