“London Is Dead” is a journey into the realms of London Life these days. Mainly composed using field recordings, processed  vocals and processed acoustic instruments. This 60 minutes piece will take you in to a full cycle of life and death. Most of the ideas to compile this release came together while taking part in a collaboration with Vj London and Disenters’ Gallery called  London Is Dead. Turn the light off,  lay down somewhere comfortable, light up your smoke  and press play.

Jose Macabra is an inimitable Live artist . His presence at any event is sure to raise temperatures and provide a memorable experience. Specialising in “Teknoise”and "Electronic Ritual", expect Jose’s sets to rock a venue to its foundations, whilst always favouring audio innovation over safer territory. His magnetic stage presence and professional attitude ensure repeat bookings that have followed him throughout his career.
A Spanish native, Jose moved to London to study Sound Design at London College Of Communications. It was here he was introduced to the city’s vibrant electronic scene. As a result he’s played at countless underground parties, but his popularity has seen him take his sound “overground” across Europe, touching down in techno institutions. He’s had residencies at legendary parties and is held in high regard by promoters throughout the continent. He has been an integral part of the teams behind nights such as Behind Bars and Antagony.
Deviance is at the heart of everything Jose does. And "everything he does" turns out to be quite a lot. You see Jose is not only extremely talented but also something of a Renaissance man: as well as his storming club sets, he's also a performance artist, sound designer, improvised noise creator, producer and a beguiling solo live act. It’s this interest in performance that’s seen Jose receive commissions for galleries, artist collaborations and more, with his work performed in art establishment venues including The Barbican, Tate Modern , BFI and The Photographer’s Gallery. Works involving Jose’s sound design have toured major festivals in Madrid, Berlin, Athens, Brussels, Milan, Barcelona and other cultural centres.
Collaboration is at the heart of Jose’s work, be it in a straight-forward club setting or a soundtrack commission for theatre, a body-piercing performance or high art concept work. “If you book me, it’s because you like what I do”, he asserts with confidence. “You tell me what to do, but I will do it my way”. Jose has worked with Ernesto Tomasini, Ron Athey, HR. Giger, Sally Mann, Empress Stah, Lydia Lunch, FFIN DANCE Company, UCL, Unite The Union, Katerina Valstur and many more, but it’s with Sammie Joplin that he’s found his longest-standing collaborative partner. Performing as Brood, the due have been known
to challenge audience’s preconceptions with drone sets that sometimes last for hours on end.
Seemingly a mix of contradictions, this fierce, larger-than-life persona betrays a quiet, sensitive soul underneath. His early interest in the Catholic church prompted a lifelong understanding of the power of ritual that has carried over into his music. Jose’s father’s attempts to keep his son from this lifestyle proved flawed; “he told me that if you go to a Catholic school, you will become a priest or a homo. I wanted to be both!” Ultimately, the sense of danger and unpredictability Jose brings to performance is all part of the act. “Everyone’s life is a performance”, muses Jose. “The only thing that isn’t a performance is death.”

Blacksilk proudly announces its third release, the second on vinyl, reissuing a selection of tracks from DsorDNE, experimental electronic band active in Turin during the 80’s and early 90’s. Thanks to the proactive and collaborative spirit of Marco Milanesio, band’s founder and author of most of the songs, deserved and proper attention is finally given to three stunning original masterpieces of dusky, heavily post-punk influenced tracks veined with some sort of industrial aftertaste. These songs have been selected from a span of works, mostly autoproduced, that DsorDNE released in the years of activity on various labels (primarily the related HAX Records) or fanzines of the thriving Italian underground scene of the time, which provided the perfect environment to experiment while representing the dull, grey and nihilist reality of the already post-industrial Turin of the mid-80’s.
“Tristi di Rabbia” (Sad of Anger), title taken from the almost madrigalic song opening the record, is completed with the electronic punk of “Love is my Eversion” (that will meet the taste of fans of SPK et similia) and “Guardami”, melodic slow industrial gem.
On the B side are featured two contemporary reworks of other original songs: “Aria” remixed by Phase Fatale, gloomy dancefloor-friendly track that emphasises the vocal abstract games of the original bringing the song to a new rhythmic dimension. and “Rimani”, remixed by the emerging artist Unhuman, who deconstructs the dark ballad achieving the result of a brilliantly crafted lo-fi EBM banger.
The artwork is curated by Silent Servant, that visually caged a picture from an unnamed Orthodox icon taken at the National Museum of Art in Bucharest reprocessing it in his own distinctive macabre-surrealist style, already appreciated in the numerous visual works for the Jealous God’s catalogue and still delivering the shock of the new.
