Monsterland was an indie rock band based out of Connecticut. Often compared to Tumbleweed or the Pooh Sticks, Monsterland has earned the humorous and possibly true moniker "Best Band From Danbury." In 1994, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore predicted that "Danbury is going to be the next Seattle." There was a large group of indie acts and the scene was very active. Monsterland was one of the most successful bands from the scene that never reached its potential (or notoriety). The band included members Thom Monahan, Todd Cronin, and Greg Vegas. They released their first single in 1991 (Nobody Loves You/Used to Smile on Threshold) followed by Get Out of My Head/Plastic Vegas Hate Fuck on Rockville. In 1993, Monsterland released their only full-length, Destroy What You Love, on Seed Records which had a distribution deal with Atlantic Records. That affinity led to a tour with Madder Rose, and though their musical styles are significantly different, Madder Rose is the group Monsterland gets mentioned with often. 1993 also saw the release of the popular Loser Friendly [EP] which was produced by Ultra Vivid Scene's Kurt Ralske. Monsterland's song often had funny titles like "Jane Wiedlin Used to Be a Go-Go As Far As We Know," "Bursitis," and "Chewbacca." Thom Monahan is currently a member of the alt country chamber pop band the Pernice Brothers whose debut, Overcome By Happiness, was released by Sub Pop in 1998. He has played guitar and produced some of the band's new material. Monahan and Greg Vegas also contributed to the collective Bunnybrains. Vegas contributed tenor sax to the "'free improv rock/fake jazz band" Hat City Intuitive. The band takes its name from Danbury's nickname "The Hat City" after an old Stetson factory that has since closed.

Out in the countryside, in the southern most part of Sweden, Linus and Matilda live with their two kids, a cat and a studio.

They have only been scanian residents since a couple of years back. In 2021, still living in Stockholm, they decided to pack up and make the move down south, with the main incentive being able to pick up where they left off after a decade long break from music making.

Linus has a background as a jazz drummer mainly. But he also knows some cheats when it comes to bass and guitar. Biggest challenge was however to get rid of the fear of embarrassment and start singing.

Matilda comes from a solid music context, and has been singing in different settings since early age. She has been part of a wide range of prominent choir groups, but is now taking the steps to actually front the sonic space.

The general idea is to make music for themselves, but to invite anyone who wants listen.

There is also an important aspect of continue the journey of growing their skill sets when it comes to everything from writing and playing to recording, mixing and mastering. Basically learning the whole process from idea to finished product.

Born and raised in the PNW, Low Key Goddess fostered her love for music from a young age, frequenting live music events of all genres in the Seattle area. 

For Low Key Goddess, beginning to mix music was like regaining control of a phantom limb; as if she had finally found the missing piece to her puzzle of authentic self-expression. As the world withdrew into their homes in 2020, Low Key Goddess expanded her horizons through house and drum and bass, and dove deep into honing her distinctive mixing style. 

The sounds of Low Key Goddess are versital, deep, and melodic. Each of her live sets tell their own unique story, rich in driving bass lines, technical drum patterns, and haunting vocals. She is a resident for De La Creme, and has played with notable groups around Seattle including LOST, Noise Complaint, Proper Pro, and Nocturne Syndicate. She has served as local support for well known artists including Sacha Robotti, Christian Martin, Klippee, and Wardo. 

In an effort to give back to the music and arts communities that shaped her, Low Key Goddess partnered with Doc Astro to found Fujin Ravewerks, a Seattle-based production company specializing in creating shared radical audio visual experiences. Their goal is to strengthen community through art, music, and free expression with a focus on inclusive grassroots events.
