Broke and I'm Still Borrowin'

This melody was created by cutting/pasting small 1-2 note fragments of improvised guitar played by Kaitlyn Vaughan over a backing track I recorded then rearranging them into a melody with GarageBand.

At the time I recorded this, I was taking a creative writing course. One of my assignments (write a sonnet) inspired the title. Here it is:

Nobody ever stops to curse the sun
for rising, setting, mimicked passing time.
For seven billion rabbits on the run.
For casting light on life’s extrinsic grime.

Nobody ever tries to shut it out.
The one’s that do are dealt out of the game.
The one’s that don’t will gain imagined clout
and bask in every day that is the same.

But time is an invention of the mind
and holds no currency inside the soul.
Our suns and moons will rise and fall in kind
and those who follow pay their mortal toll.

So I will turn my back to clocks and dials;
My static looking glass can see for miles.
