Reminiscence ~ True Pain [Solo Piano]

I didn't think I'd put any Metroid Prime tracks into the list but then I remembered Phendrana Drifts and how memorable it was, not just to me but to many Metroid fans around the world. Of course, I didn't steer too far away from the feel of the original and moulded it to my style, keeping the mood on par with the original.

I am not affiliated in anyway with Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its respective music is the property of Nintendo.

When I first started doing my digital performances of Symphony of the Goddess tracks, I was reached out to by John MacKay who liked my work and offered some great advice. We soon became associates and he shared with me a proposed Symphonic Movement for Breath of the Wild. I was blown away by it, how he managed to capture the story of the game in just a few songs, as well as the brilliant orchestration within.

After completing the fifth and final movement in the Zelda Symphony I reached out to him asking if he'd allow me to do a performance of it and he said yes! So I set to work.

This actually was quite a tricky song to nail down. Lots of gorgeous polyphony I wanted to highlight while keeping the levels in order. I did a full draft of the piece then completely scrapped it and started over. Overall I'm very pleased with the final result! 

My favorite sections have to be the Vah Ruta battle and of course Hyrule Castle, both brilliantly realized for a full Orchestra. The way all major aspects of the game are conveyed are downright genius, especially in a game who's musical styling would not inherently lend as much to orchestral rendering.
