Press release: Having emerged from a crop of disco flavoured releases and vocal led remixes a couple of years ago, Ashley Casselle and Asadinho decided to embark upon creating a series of stripped down 'housey techno' dj tools to be used as experimental moments within their own podcasts and dj sets. This degree of honesty, and a desire to hark back to the roots of the music that drew them together in the first place, resulted in the sublime and bouncy 'Ceefox'. Grainy 70's b-movie strings atop an addictive bassline equals a subtle yet huge club moment wherever it's played. 

We here at Murge decided to entice these charming deejays to put out this deep and groovesome tune with us. Two remixes come courtesy of new kingpin on the block Jordan Peak, who takes things into a more stomping club arena, and the beautifully glictchy ambience of Julien Mier's headphone friendly interpretation. Finishing off proceeding with Phil Madeiski remix of deep dubby distorted movement. This track is only featured on Vinyl.

Our very special guest this week on the Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast  is Danny Howells. 

The British DJ and producer has become one of the most well loved and reliable record spinners around.  From his early days performing in the local clubs around Hastings, UK, to DJing at John Digweed’s Bedrock parties, for which he served as a resident for nine years, Howells has become a firm favorite with fans and other DJs alike.  Literally performing in every four corners of the globe, with a relentless schedule over the years, Danny is known for his longer extended sets, regularly working a 10 hour set, be it in New York or London, or beyond.

In the studio, Danny has been releasing his own brand of “futuristic tech house funk” under various guises since the mid 1990s, cropping up on labels like Yoshitoshi, Sex On Wax and his own label, Dig Deeper, but it’s probably as a DJ first and fore mostly that Danny has built his solid reputation upon, releasing superb mix albums for Renaissance, Global Underground and most recently, Balance Music, as well as legendary radio mixes such as his classic 2002 Radio 1 Essential Mix.

So, it’s a real scoop to have him on the Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast this week, so prepare for two hours of music par excellence, this week, from Danny Howells.

The Plumps were a surprise, unannounced addition to the line-up this year and to the delight of an unsuspecting crowd, they lit up the Funktion One stage as the sun was setting on yet another epic B.O.C. Plumps DJs are internationally renown UK DJ/Producer duo Andy Gardner and Lee Rous, whose passion for innovation and non-conformist attitude to electronic music has fuelled their fire for over a decade. Their unmistakeable signature sound has earned them recent remix commissions from the likes of Deadmau5, Mark Ronson, Moby and Orbital while their four deck live show has lead to countless international tours and shows at London's lead music venues XOYO, Fabric and the Nest.
