In their most furious release to date, Blank Code presents the Strumpet EP. Kicking off with the distorted dirty stomp of the Original Mix, Drumcell and Material Object let loose this dark gem that thunders forth the forgotten language of noise. Crowned with explosive hi hats, Strumpet seems to tear through any speaker it touches. 

The brooding Drumcell “Desolate remix” begins with a paranoid modular synth line looping over a crisp kick drum that hits on every other beat, slowly obscured by hovering atmospheres. As the track progresses, the grotesque snarl from the original mix growls along at a slow pace as the main synth loop perpetually modulates, occasionally usurped by distorted guitar-like wails.

Material Object's "Remix" gradually constructs the static-smeared framework ex nihilo, building from a warm and empty beat into a screaming fist-fight banger. By contrast, Brendon Moeller’s "Echologist Trick" enters with a patiently subdued broken beat that struts a certain swagger with its crushing low bass. The track sulks along with a seductive deepness, occasionally flaring out with the artists' signature use of echoing delay and reverb. 

Material Object closes the release with the Digital exclusive "Beatless Tool" that rises out of an atmospheric void with the alarming screech used in his remix version, allowing the DJ to easily layer the panic-inducing feeling of Strumpet over any track.

Here's the 2,5 hour recording of my closing set at Illegal Romance this summer. I really enjoyed playing this and have really enjoyed listening back to this set. The vibe at these events are incredible and I think you can honestly hear that through this recording. It really shows what I like to convey in my sets lately and it's been a while since I've posted something by myself, so I thought it'd be a good time to post it :)

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to host such an iconic figure from the London Techno scene : R.M.K (Fossil Archive, Nechto , Odd Even).

Hailing from London, R.M.K is an exciting new project by Fossil Archive label head Roberto. It represents a faster and more intense take on his unique brand of Techno.

He utilises his knowledge and past experiences, which include regularly playing at Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, as well as fabric in London, to develop his individual sound.

During his 20+ year career in music, he has formed friendships and worked in partnership with other respected artists such as Trevino (Marcus Intalex), Jamie Anderson, Robert Owens, Goldie and Nastia.

Although the focus is always on the very heart of the most raucous of raves, R.M.K never shies away from groove and funk. This is conveyed in a Live Show that utilises classic hardware from the golden age of UK Rave.

For the 54th episode of the BPitch Podcast, we’re excited to welcome Kessie.

Kessie, a Leeds-based DJ known for her techno-infused soundscapes that are as textured and dynamic as they are heavy.  Ironically, Kessie’s hearing disability is the driving force behind her machinist approach to DJing. Her "wall of sound" aesthetic results in immersive sets that invite you to feel the music just as much as you hear it.

“I wanted to lean more into my instincts for this mix and channel some of the anxieties I’ve been dealing with in my everyday attempts to juggle this scramble we call life. It’s also been a while since I’ve focused on a podcast and I’ve grown more confident in my style: colourful and sinister with a seductive twang. I focused on contrast, depth, and flow. It’s tempting to approach a podcast like you’re at a club, but that’s already quite challenging when you’re in a studio alone, with no energy to feed off except your own. So I gave myself permission to wander a bit and see where the mix wanted to go, maintaining a playful attitude while letting some of the darker undertones bleed through. “
