    Hold On is track 9 on the album Focal Point.

    The main piano riff came from a song I wrote called "Still it rains" but after witnessing the Tsunami tragedy on TV on boxing day 2004 the song became "Hold On".

    That Tsunami left 230,000 people dead or missing and another 2 million homeless. Our attention has since moved away but the effects of such a catastrophe are very much a reality for many people, especially children, in that area.

i did this track in mono...
i wanted to get some sort of old school feel that they had in those 1960's orchestrated pop productions.
i'm no whizz kid,so it's not one hundred per cent there...but i did like the feeling of having everything in mono as one single complete sound coming out of any speaker, with no modern stereo spread.
in the attached video you have me with a brown paper bag over my head...[ me at my most beautiful]
i suppose the bag over my moosh is a metaphor of a dunces hat....
y'see a lot of the time i feel really stupid...
i find as i get older i can get real touchy,and burn on a short fuse,where once it was all like water off a ducks back....
when i was younger i just let go of all the bollox real fast...
i think that's a far more beautiful headspace to be in,and i want to get back there without suffering fools glady.
like so many songwriters, the words are often just me having a dialogue with myself...and that's loosely all that's happening here...
me taking stock of what a total windbag i can sometimes be...blaming everything before eventually blaming myself....
i have a very addictive personality,and i'm told these flaws i talk about are typical of such a person...
i have turned to all sorts of things to medicate and drown out all the noise inside my head...drugs....sex...the usual.
i can only hope the song speaks to others in some way.
