Lina Filipovich - Omqroid (BLNK023)

Paris-based artist Lina Filipovich is set to release her third album, Music for an Imaginary Dancefloor. This album ventures into the intriguing space where club rhythms meet abstract, experimental sounds. Written between June and December 2022, the LP emerged from improvisations on analog synthesizers and is characterized by its dynamic energy and rich, layered textures.

Our premiere today, "Silver Ghost," combines atonal drones and atmospheric elements to create a moody, cinematic experience. The track's gritty, bleepy downtempo vibe flirts with the experimental, making it perfect for listeners who appreciate intricate, thought-provoking music. Music for an Imaginary Dancefloor will be available on May 24 via Blank Mind.

Viennese techno imprint Bare Hands is pushing its rugged, warm analogue sound towards new territories with‚ European Moral Standards'. Following up their first release, Bare Hands opt for rather eclectic Soundscapes, yet keeping analogue roughness and a spontaneous feel in their focus. 

On side A, Herla's offshoot Sedvs, leaves the comfort zone of 4x4 with ‚Ritual Purity', delivering a sonic exploration of rough, stabbing waves of synths embedded in gloomy, washed-out drums, yet keeping one foot in the club with ‚Protect and Serve', a true 'left of the field' delicacy, meant to cook up the floor right before the main dish is served. 

The B Side, host to mysterious outfit Stock Projects, kicks off with‚ ,Same 1', a toolish, subby basement workhorse driven by a relentless kick topped with hypnotizing hats to send any floor off into lock step. ‚Same 2' however, provides a bouncy neo-technoid cut, reminiscing the gems of a lost era without stepping too far away from the dodgy, sweaty dancefloor it calls home. 

Bare Hands'‚ European Moral Standard' EP arrives in a limited run of black vinyl and includes hand numbered postcard artwork on raw 250g paper.
