Keepsakes, the moniker of British-born, New Zealand-residing producer and DJ James Barrett, has been going from strength to strength in the murky world of techno in the past few years. With EPs pressed to wax on Ansome and Ossian’s South London Analogue Material and Germany’s Mindcut, and 2 European tours under his belt in just the past 12 months, Keepsakes has been working hard to bring his unique and gritty sound from the shores of the South Pacific to the spangled masses in Europe.

This mix is made up of much of the music he played on his last EU tour in February 2017, and a bunch of new tracks from the friends he has made on tour!

From relentlessly aggressive Techno to macabre, ambientesque Noise, from rough and energetic Breakbeat straight into virtually violent Industrial – Peryl’s style doesn’t do boundaries. Neither does he put them on himself nor his audience. He rather takes on each musical moment, be it in the studio or in the club, as an approach to play with those stylistic boundaries, to pull them apart, to extend them to a degree that the audience can’t find the genre-pigeonhole to put it into.

Infected by the late 90s Schranz wave Eve cannot deny her Frankfurt roots and the affection for dirty warehouse bangers. Her ongoing search for raw, edgy tunes reflecting the typical intensity of her mixes however took her across various European scenes and genres. Industrial noise, combined with straight techno elements and distorted breaks might define her signature sound. Although a good dose of unpredictability and experimental challenge underline her diverse artistic appearance. After residencies in her home city Frankfurt and hosting several events at the side of Anthony Rother Eve settled over to Berlin with the focus on growing behind the scenes and developing her own musical output. Venues such as Arena Club, About Blank or Tresor already offered her a platform.
