Mumbai based artist Nate08 has been dazzling his home crowd with outstanding performances as a DJ and live performer. Signed to London label Needwant, his sound touches on the groove-oriented territories of R&B, neo soul, and soulful house with his elegantly spun productions. Real name Nathan Thomas, Nate08 presents a kaleidoscopic debut in the shape of this much anticipated album 'Furaha'. Setting the tone with Latin guitars that glide over intricate percussion on the title cut, Azamaan Hoyvoy's vocal follows livening up the summery haze of 'Trigger Fool', while the funk-flecked 'Bunker' sees Nathan's bass proficiency arrive in full force.The captivating chords of 'Hold Up' soar over rolling bass and shimmering synths, while 'Sunrise Sunfall' is a stunning example of Nate08's organically spun deep house prowess that features Jitwam's soul-drenched vocal locked inside the dancefloor groove. ‘Want You’ features Mumbai artist Megan Murray who’s vocal provides the perfect hook, there’s an R&B house hybrid 'Feel It', with a striking performance by Lojal, followed by 'Cold Muse' with its broken drums and heavy chords that play out over some deadly bass. New London label Natural Element kicks things off with the debut release from Fremantle based Jon E. These 3 tracks showcase the producer’s innate flair for slick, sophisticated grooves that evoke the rawness of Detroit as well as the spirit of London’s broken beat pioneers. The A-side offering ‘New Ventures’ is a beautifully crafted piece of jazzed-up house with an infectious bassline and synths that weave in and out to create a warm and uplifting energy, whilst ‘Sunflowers’ on the flip side is a no-nonsense jam with wonky drums, vibrant strings and a soaring synth solo reminiscent of Kaidi Tatham. ‘Where & When’ rounds off the EP with a bouncy, feel good groove featuring jazzy piano stabs and some vocal work from Aeasheiaa. Swiss DJ Alex Attias returns to BBE with a second helping of uptempo cuts, perfectly encapsulating his LillyGood Party! sound.

Founder of the recently revived Visions imprint, a long-time collector and a revered selector, Alex Attias is, before everything, a refined producer whose musical craft has seen him travel the globe, most notably with an extended stint in the birthplace of the bruk sound, London.

The tracks you’ll find on this compilation are all current favourites, or proven classics that have never left Alex's record box at the LillyGood Parties, a gathering Alex and his brother Stephane run in their hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland.

LillyGood Party! Vol.2 is another testament to Attias’ unswerving taste for smooth yet intricate, subtly layered yet deeply rooted dance compositions; some subtly edited for maximum dance-floor effect.

When I first set out on this journey this was one of the very first tracks that I had a go at mixing. I was very much a newbie then
and even though I posted it on SC I really wasn't very happy with it and therefore never made it downloadable.
Looking back I was pretty clueless when I first did it but now I'm that I'm a little older and a little wiser I'm happy to report that I 
still am!! 

Anyways, I had a lot of requests for the original mix so decided to have another stab at it. You're all clever cookies so I'll let you figure what I've done to it :))

A veteran jazz funker, I have been listening and collecting soul, dance and jazz for the past 35 years and is a very important part of my life. Inspired by listening to some of the great grooves, mixes and re-edits that are currently out there I figured I should do something with all the music I have amassed and which I love and adore. I have never DJ'd and what I know about music I could write on the back of a cigarette packet ( I know, I know, it shows!), but thought I'd give this a go. I'm into all genres of soul, dance and nu jazz and like to dust off a little gem which never quite made it out there and give it a fresh vibe.

I started remixing in August 2011 just fooling around on Garageband with just my intuition and a little help from Youtube to get me started. I am now working on Logic 9 and am trying to produce some of my own tracks as well as remixing.Not having a musical bone in my body can be a little frustrating at times so if there are any budding, or indeed accomplished, musicians, vocalists, 12 piece horn sections (!) who have a soulful or jazzy vibe that would like to do some collaboration work then I’d love to hear from you….as I would any mastering guru’s – Jeeesh, what son of a bit*h invented that!! :))

I am truly amazed I actually have a following here on SC and that people are actually listening and downloading my stuff. To you, I would like to say a BIG thank you for all your kindness and words of encouragement, and to those DJ’s on Solar, Starpoint, SoulLegends, JFS, Soulmine, Soulpower,Stomp JazzFM, Back2Back and everyone else that has been brave enough to actually  air some of this stuff – it means a lot!
