A long in the works collection of new material, live tracks, and other odds and ends from this Denton, Texas two-piece. Only with one prior proper release under their belts, this sees the project move in a much more raw and noisy direction to compliment their layered darkwave / goth sound. Opening (and also closing for a nice bookended effect) with a new track titled "Suicide Week", a preview of their newest session, then a clip from an infamous live set, where the bands syrupy synth fueled improv was too much for some real straights at a fancy bar, and closing with a complete and rather vibrant set from their show in New York, with plenty of favorites including Golden Showers and Krystal Tearz. Two-panel J-card with silver ink offset printing on black linen card stock, with a double sided full color pro-printed four-panel insert, with one panel stenciled with silver spray paint. A superb pairing of new and old become anew once again. The Viennese duo Novy Svet is making music after an extended silence, and this 7" is the first new material available besides a very scarcely distributed yet excellent split 7" with Susa24 (member from Santa Espina, see BH-76). The sounds that emanate from the pair of Jürgen Weber and frl. tost are extremely unorthodox for the dark folk milieu, in that they are not afraid to reach out in many non-traditional directions; multi-lingual lyrics, broad genre bending and meshing, and an over-all style that could be perceived as rather modern, a perfect fit for the curatorial standards of Black Horizons. Spettro Family, from Milan, Italy, is a new project that has quickly gained attention, and rightfully so, as he has his own unique Mediterranean take on cinematic prog horror scapes. Edition of 500 copies. Sleeve is printed with silver and gold ink on black linen card stock. The faces on the cover are of Jarboe and Jessica Way (Worm Ouroboros, Barren Harvest) and are photos that were taken at the 2013 Stella Natura Festival. The inspiration for the layout theme comes from a specific scene in Ingmar Bergman's Persona. Silver on black labels. 100 on blue vinyl with a hand numbered drop card. The other 400 on black.

Cinematic and brooding, like a southern-fried horror soundtrack, presenting here an album that is both conceptual and cohesive. The subject matter none other than circus freak shows. A fascinatingly unique new project from the Persistence In Mourning camp, featuring Andy Lippoldt joined by Justin Summers, of Australia. That being said this is a long distance collaboration that also goes places that PIM doesn't. The heavy, raw, noisy bedroom-level production remains, but the influences are broader and more forthright. Take blues, dark folk, even country, and siphon it through a gritty industrial filter and you might start to begin to describe their sound. Jute Gyte, the project of Adam Kalmbach who has recently relocated to the PNW, returns with new deranged microtonal black metal ferocity as only he can, this time in C40 split form once again, with Greece's Spectral Lore. The long running solo project of Ayloss, who conjures a hellish din of gutteral, ambient black metal, that, like the artist he shares this split with, leans towards a long-winded, winding and progressive sound. Both artists use Georg Trakl's poem, "Helian", as lyrical fodder. An epic, expressive meditation on passage and death. Four panel j-cards with silver and red offset on black linen paper.
