What better way to mark the 20th anniversary of Tronic, his forward-thinking label, than creating a new artist album? Christian Smith stands out as one of the worlds leading exponents of inventive, diverse techno and Stranger Than Paradise continues his enthralling, ever-evolving musical journey with aplomb. The fact that Tronic is one of the Top 5 selling techno labels in the world is a mark of a man who stands for nothing less than pure quality. 
Having previously released benchmark, critically acclaimed LPs Omakase (2013) and Directors Cut (2010) Christian Smith is no stranger to creating supreme, danceoor orientated albums, that explore and showcase his diverse musical style. Both as a DJ and producer, he is always innovative and bold, a leader not a follower. 
Alongside the jaw-dropping excellence of the solo tracks, this new album also features dynamic, inventive collaborations with Wehbba (Christians great friend and regular collaborator), the New York based house music legend Cevin Fisher, long-time studio collaborator John Selway (of Smith &amp; Selway fame), and Christians childhood friend and hip-hop artist Arcturus Ra. 
The Stranger Than Paradise album project will be unveiled rst as four singles released at weekly intervals through the month of October, with the full album release following in the rst week of November on 12 vinyl and digital formats. An album remix pack will be released in December.

After the successful release of his collaboration Neon Jungle with Harry Romero in July, Christian Smith brings us the next and final installment from his Synergy compilation album due out in October. Based in Brazil for many years, before moving to Europe, it was there in Sao Paulo where Christian became friends with techno king Victor Ruiz, so its no surprise that the duo have naturally joined forces to collaborate for this special project on Tronic. Victor is no stranger to the label, after remixing a track from Christian's album in 2016 and featuring on a compilation back in 2013. After some late night studio sessions in Brazil and Mallorca earlier this year, the duo created two original tracks to form The Runner EP, which is set to drop on Tronic on the 18th September. The title track, The Runner has a pummeling low end growl to it. A slow burner of a track which pushes deeper into the depths of subtle synth work. It releases into a recognisable and sizeable stab pattern, ready to set alight dancefloors. Drone Sector pulsates and has a deep beat driving behind a droning style vocal hook. The track has an atmospheric feel to it, creating a lurking but subtle air of tension. This is a late night heady techno track, set to trip you out.

October 2017 brings the next big release from Christian Smith, with his album project Synergy. Compiled of 12 original tracks, the album is a selection of collaborations he has produced on the road in studios in New York, Brazil, Tokyo, Germany, and Barcelona.
Tronic drip fed fans with two releases, first was Neon Jungle a groovy, vocal driven, funk inspired EP produced with house Legend Harry Romero, and the second a pummeling growler of an EP The Runner with Brazilian techno king Victor Ruiz. 
Christian brought together legends in the industry with John Selway and Harry Romero on this LP, along with current techno favorites Victor Ruiz and Wehbba, not forgetting some new stars on the rise with German artist 2pole and Drunken Kong, a duo from Tokyo taking the techno world by storm with their latest debut album released on Tronic earlier this year.
A special track to note is Jackin with John Selway. Christian and Johns bootleg Krispy Kranz taken from Laurent Garniers classic Crispy Bacon was a smash hit back in 2004, however, the duo has been collaborating together on endless projects since 2000 and have reunited especially for this trance inspired beat.
The album has something for everyone, variation is key here, with each track very different in its production and inspiration. Wehbba and Romero really bring some electro funkiness into the mix, whilst 2Pole and Victor Ruiz keep it dark with peak time, late night chugging techno. And finally, Drunken Kong deliver an industrial, minimal track throwing an unexpected but welcome addition to the 12 track innovative album.
