The Black Light Disco Show was marauding with intent once again onto the myhouseradio.fm airwaves for another fizzy 5 spice bath-bomb of a show for your collective lug holes. 

This week, we have the one and only Cole Kutz on hosting duties for the first hour of the show. Yes, in a show of commitment, we’ve bestowed Cole with the spare keys to BLD Towers and given him his own sock and underwear drawer in the 50th floor Panoramic Bedroom Suite. Cole will be earning his BLD motif smoking jacket with a set packed with oomph and oooft!  

Joining Cole as our special guest this week is a man who has been around the block a few times (and knocked on every door) - Wilson Frisk! Mr Frisk (aka Craig) is the sole proprietor of the excellent ‘Housebound’ radio show’ airing on Peoples City Radio (PCR). Hailing from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England, Wilson started his journey collecting music as a young buck and over the years has carved out quite the CV. Boasting residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield in the mid-1990s, he has progressed into music production as one half of ‘The Krate Diggaz’. He is renowned for his smooth mixing style encompassing all genres of House music but always keeping it soulful and funky.

Welcome to the 3rd Birthday edition of my radio show! It's hard to believe that three years have passed since I started this show during the Pandemic. I'm still loving broadcasting to you all, and I hope that the show continues to spread happiness and positivity.

This week's special guest is a true legend of the disco world, MICHAEL GRAY. I'm a huge fan of his work, and have played many of his tracks on my show. Get ready for an incredible mix from the man!

Michael Gray is a hugely respected and established British DJ and music producer, best known for his hits ‘The Weekend’ & ‘Borderline’ He is also one half of the dance music production and remixing duo 'Full Intention' who have been at the forefront of Dance music since the early 90s.

London-based Michael is one of the most in-demand Artists on the global dance music scene today. Having relaunched his solo career as Michael Gray in 2018 to pursue his original love of Disco, Michael has already become the world #2 Soul/Funk/Disco Artist on Traxsource in 2019 - an incredible achievement and a worthy accolade for Michael's world-class production skills. Throw into the mix awesome DJ sets at the best events in the UK, and a host of chart topping tracks with Jon Pearn as Full Intention, and you start to see the full picture of one of the UK's most talented Artists. 

He has DJ’d all over the world from MOS in London to Hi (for Glitterbox) & Pacha in Ibiza and as far and wide as Poland, Germany, The Philippines, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Georgia, Spain and The Netherlands.

3rd Birthday Show: Feel Good Friday (feat Michael Gray)

The Black Light Disco Show lounges in the hammock that is the myhouseradio.fm airwaves - swinging on the summer breeze and keeping one eye open under our wide-brimmed sun hats for water pistol-wielding punks. 

This week, we had a bit of a crisis here at BLD Towers. Our new outdoor Gazebo Bandstand blew off the roof garden in the weekend storms, taking out a vintage ice cream van and injuring several Deliveroo riders when it landed in the street below. Goz and Esteban have arranged a charity gig tonight to raise funds to replace the ice cream van, and so we’ll be broadcasting all the action live from the Montpellier Ball Rooms across the street. 

First up is Goz, who has delved into the crates to put together an incredible set of twists and turns featuring tracks from Dave Gerrard, Lego Edit, Amp Fiddler, Dusty Donuts and Crazy P among others. Plenty of funk, hip hop and boogie in this one - just the ticket. 

For the second hour Esteban continues the summer theme with a melting pot of sounds, styles and rhythms. Served up on the platters for this session are choice cuts from the likes of Pete Josef, Ukokos & Jabco, Jo Paciello, Copycat and LTJ XPerience.

My special guest this week is Disco Twister, an exciting DJ from Switzerland who got my attention with his fabulous soundcloud mixes are were packed full of quality tracks from start to finish!

** DISCO TWISTER BIO **
I started DJ-ing in 1997 and started in the music genre Hip-Hop. At that time still analog with the classic turntables MK2 and many vinyls. After about 5 years my musical journey has evolved and the music styles BigBeat, Breakbeat and Funky Discotunes were added. I had regular gigs in a club in my hometown. I was also able to play in some other clubs in Switzerland.

In 2010 I decided to take a break from DJ-ing - i was lacking time at that time and needed a creative break from everything. However, I never turned my back on music - quite the opposite. Music is my constant companion. Be it in the car, at work, at sports or at home. I love to search for new music on Soundcloud, Spotify and Beatport and discover music gems.

Around 2 years ago, i kept having the thought and also the desire to start DJ-ing again. I had so many ideas how to mix these tracks together. However, digitalization scared me off at first and i couldn't imagine doing mixes without vinyl and the turntables. But then i saw the advantages and so i bought an XDJ-RX3.

Now I have found my music style - "NuDiscoFunkyHouse". In my mixes it is important to me that the influences from my earlier time are always present. Funk, Soul, HipHop as well as the 80's with the synthesizer sounds are important elements for me, as well as disco classics. Also the artist name i have chosen consciously. As Disco Twister i want to whirl people around on the dance floor with my Nu Disco and Funky House tracks and my mission is to give as many people as possible happy and musical moments with my DJ sets. With great pleasure I have listed my three mixes NuDiscoFunkyHouse - Session 01, 02 & 03 on Soundcloud. And they will definitely not be the last ones 😉

Even if the mixes are not perfect yet, I'm working and training hard and my goal is to start playing festivals and gigs in 2024.

Ep 153: Feel Good Friday Show (feat Disco Twister)

The Black Light Disco Show whip cracked the My House Radio airwaves again with another action packed basket of mayhem! 

This week, our residents Esteban & Goz hosted the show from the BLD sponsored sun terrace on the shores of Lake Guacamole. The chaps have been clearing out the pool shed all week - shifting the chlorine and recycling old deckchairs in preparation for the final throes of summer. Honestly, the work never ends. 

First up is Esteban, who has gone with an eclectic, funky bass-driven affair to tickle your fancy. Expect some upcoming Tropical Disco gems and crackers from the likes of Chewy Rubs, Hotmood, Late Nite Tuff Guy and a few more!

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
