This week's Spin City Show saw me and my main man Esteban get together for a b2b session on my recent trip to Liverpool. The Black Light Disco Show returned to the @myhouseradio.fm airwaves on Monday 20th November 2023 - serving as the perfect pick-me-up for the week ahead and giving those Monday Blues a firm kick in the sweetbreads. 

This week sees the return of residents Goz and Esteban after a short hiatus. They’re currently setting up the newly decorated Winter Events Room here in BLD Towers, complete with fake snow, ice sculptures and an igloo-themed DJ Booth to put a topper on things. Ep135 - Wilson Frisk and Bessie Woo - Disco Waltons Sunday Service (17th Dec 23)

Episode 126 was another enjoyable one - I had a lovely time in hour one, mixing up all sorts of weirdness. Decided to start slow-ish and build up rather than jump around the BPM, so we go from moody Afro influences up to pumping disco, with a couple of brand spanking new bits from me in there. Quite smooth mixing from me for once, except at one point I hit the wrong button and completely stopped the music… but I don’t think anyone noticed! 

Hour 2 was bloody good! We were treated to an hour of disco delights from Loughborough-based party starting duo DiscoJam. True to their name, this was a wonderfully put together and expertly mixed journey through disco and nu-disco sounds with a great mix of favourites, lesser-known cuts and a few surprises. Well worth a listen, and if you find yourself near Loughborough you should probably get yourself down to one of their parties!

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
