The Black Light Disco Show was back on the  myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a double dipped, disco flavoured dipstick bomb to soothe your ears. 

This week, the exuberant, effervescent, extraordinary and pre-eminent Groove Surgeon, Cole Kutz was on hosting duties live from the Chaka Khan Collaboration Zone here in BLD Towers. Yes folks, Cole has made full use the freedom of BLD Towers since getting a key last month and he’s eagerly setting up the DJ Booth and oversized speakers ahead of taking us through the first hour. Expect an hour long force ten disco slap in the face! 

Joining Cole for the second hour is our guest for this week, the supremely talented Mark Stone!

Mark grew up in a musical family and was heavily influenced by his parents’ love of soul funk disco rock and roll.  He has been Dj’ing since 1998, playing around the UK and occasionally in Europe.  As well as being a talented DJ, Mark has produced his own edits and reworks and hosted a radio show on Grooveskool radio alongside luminaries such as Fingerman, Rupz, Apple Scruffs, Chewy Rubs and Scratch & Sniff to name but a few. Currently, you can find Mark in his residency at a quirky little place called the Crooked Man in Prestwich, Greater Manchester on the last Saturday of the month. 

Mark has been on our radar for some time now so we’re naturally delighted to showcase his considerable skills on his BLD debut.

I'll keep it brief! Since getting my first set of decks in 1995 I have had the DJ Bug... Fast forward through the years and some experiences I find myself a Resident DJ for Edit Presents in Manchester and loving all things Disco and Edits!

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.

London-based DJ, producer and radio host Even Funkier weaves together Disco, Funk, House, Soul, Boogie, Jazz, Hip Hop and Global delights to create something fresh, irresistibly funky and downright groovy. He plays tunes from across the decades, genres and BPMs, mixing up hidden gems with tried and tested favourites, with a focus on sweet, sweet Disco music brought right up to date for modern dancefloors.

As a DJ he’s taken his trademark rollercoaster genre-fluid sets to locations including Glastonbury, ADE and Westival, playing parties for Midnight Riot, Good Custard, Project Bango, Pineapple Police Horse and DiscNoTheque. And as a producer he’s released on over 20 labels labels including Tropical Disco, Hot Digits, Mango Sounds, The Disco Express, Midnight Riot and TheBasement Discos.
