Sunday Dinner Sessions (October '20)

On Monday's Black Light Disco Show we changed the mood lighting in BLD Towers to 'ambient', opened a bottle of our favourite Red and let the smooth grooves wash over us for the whole two hours.

On resident duties was Goz, who took the steering wheel for the first hour and drove us through a laid-back, perfectly pitched set that prepared the ground for our very, very special guest, Touchsoul aka Adrian Dickinson.

Adrian has been responsible for producing some of the most delicious, timeless and distinct reworks over the last few years. He vibe is so unique, his production skills so on point you can't help but fall under his spell. This set for BLD shows what he's all about; distinctively melodic, moving and assured. This, my friends is not to be missed.

BLD Mon 30th Nov 2020 - Goz & Touchsoul (Special Guest)

Dear family and friends,

It's a pleasure to welcome you to this year's "2020 wrap up party" ... and what a year it was indeed.

I fell in love with Nu-Disco and Edits in 2017/2018, being introduced to Soundcloud and its bottom-less pit of great music by my partner Jasmin and eventually started my own group "The Art of Edits" (www.facebook.com/groups/1017400235279489) a year ago. 

During the first few months of 2020 I saw many many brilliant DJs and edit/rework-artists joining the group and starting sharing their own music and the love for the genre.

Even though 2020 brought us the COVID pandemic and social distancing, it brought the Soundcloud users closer together musically. My own DJ-mixes (e.g. the Discoballs & PopArt series) started getting listened to more often and via "The Art of Edits" I started to discover new productions, producers, DJs and eventually made new friends.

For our final show of 2020 on My House Radio, we had something very special in mind to see out what was a horrible year for all of us, but also to celebrate a fantastic first year for us on the MHR airwaves. Taking the controls for the first hour of the show is the Reverend Goz, who delivered his sermon from the balcony of BLD Towers, warming the congregation up for the star of our final show - Cal Gibson aka The Secret Soul Society! Eclectic, mesmerising, unique and totally devoted to his music, Cal has been on our radar for a good while, and we were absolutely delighted to have him on BLD to showcase his considerable musical talent and unparalleled eclectic taste in music. Keep an eye out for their LP on Slightly Transformed records: Songs From The Soul Kitchen. 

This is not one to be missed and we couldn’t think of a more perfect way to end an amazing year for Black Light Disco.

Sunday Sessions Jan '20

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
