My guest this week is one of my fellow Disco Waltons, Peter SHALVOY. He's a seasoned NYC nightclub veteran, and has played at all the city’s top clubs, from his early residency at the legendary Nell’s, to more recent venues like Bungalow 8, Marquee & The Box.
He also currently has a residency at On The Record in Las Vegas.

As well as DJing, Shalvoy is an accomplished producer. I really love his upbeat style of music, and I've played a few of his tracks on my show recently. He has released tracks on major labels such as Tropical Disco, Super Spicy, Spa In Disco, Mango Sounds, Hot Digits and Midnight Riot, with more to come in 2022!

Episode 88: Feel Good Friday Radio Show (feat Shalvoy)

The Black Light Disco show was once again shinning up the drainpipe of entertainment and flipping the finger to mediocrity. 

For this week's show our super-talented resident Goz was located deep within the Sonic Blast Room here in BLD Towers, where he controlled proceedings for the first hour. This was a slow-mo jam which melted like a slice of cheese on toast done under the grill. Just how he likes it. With extra pickle as well. 

For our guest mix duties we had a real talent from LA taking over for hour two of the show - Figment! Here’s a little bit more about our guest this week…

Figment (aka Jesse James and half of The Family Funk Project) now calls the unrelenting madness of Los Angeles, CA home.

His roots are firm in the Disco, House and Soul genres but always branch out to work with artists that love to add a little funk. Two decades of touring and monthly residencies has allowed his unique blend and style the necessary exposure to develop and transition into the world of production. Now that everything is opening back up he's set to hit the road once again. Stay tuned for new releases this summer and live sets around the globe!

My guest this week is HP VINCE, a legend on the disco scene who was ranked No.8 Nu-Disco Artist last year on Traxsource. As a producer, his productivity is off the scale, with multiple releases every month. His tracks regularly hit the Top 100, and last year he had 31 tracks in the Top 10. He has had releases on major labels such as Tasty Recordings, Chopshop Music, Spa In Disco, Springbok Records, Tropical Disco and many more.

His style is upbeat and uplifting, and I would call it “Disco House”, although his sound is diverse and brings influences from a variety of genres. But every track is guaranteed to ignite the dancefloor with energy. As a DJ he is equally talented, and weaves together a mix of bouncy beats that will get your feet moving for sure!

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
