A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.

Ferdinand Debeaufort - In Your Smile [Too Slow To Disco]

You can never have too much of a good thing. That's why the Black Light Disco Show airing on MyHouse Radio FM (once again voted as the #1 house music station on the planet) brought back BLD's very own Butch and Sundance - Goz and Esteban - for a Back-2Back extraveganza, 

These two Dukes of the Disco Scene have been working on their B2B game for some time. Up until now, this has been strictly limited to our BLD nights, but for the show on 3rd August 2020 they somehow managed to record a B2B bonanza. that will demand you move your feet to How did they do it with hundreds of miles separating them? We'll never know. Who starts off and who finishes? Only those in the know will know, but what this two hour B2B set does is showcases their almost telepathic understanding of each other's DJ game. 

It's a flip switch, flim-flam disco funk jam of epic proportions, featuring some new and soon to be released stuff along with some select choices from deep within their shared record crates.

Guest Mixes

I'm Not A Puzzle Piece Mix - Sep 2018

The latest instalment of the Black Light Disco show aired on Monday 31st August 2020 on the number 1 house music station on the whole stinking planet, MyHouse Radio Fm. 

This was another two hours of super-charged funky joints and disco grooves to lighten the mood and soothe the soul. 

On hosting duties this week was our BLD resident and Spin City Head Honcho, Goz who got things off to a great start with a mixture of new and soon to be released tunes alongside some recent classics. It’s an hour of bass slappin’, foot tappin’ paradise featuring cuts from the likes of Tropical Disco, Samosa Records and Slightly Transformed. 

For the second hour, we welcomed Russia based DJ from Sweden, Martin Petersson for one of the most memorable debuts on the show so far. 

Haling from Portside Gothenburg, Sweden, Martin Petersson (aka MartinMax) moved out to Moscow more than a decade ago. 
He quickly gained traction on the local club scene with spots at Pacha Moscow amongst others. One of Martin’s key traits are his profound knowledge of music, which he combines with an imminent feeling for the pulse of the dance floor. Since early Spring 2020 Martin has been part of our good friends at Discoholics Anonymous and a residency on Hot To The Touch on Prime Radio 100.3 FM (where he came onto our BLD radars very quickly!) Martin’s passion is reflected in every set he make, which has secured him a growing following of dedicated discholics. We’re delighted to welcome Martin onto the show and know he’ll make a big impression.

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET.

Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
