The Black Light Disco Show returned to the myhouseradio.fm airwaves oiled up like a vintage Arnold Schwarzenegger striding along Santa Monica’s Muscle Beach -  kicking sand in the face of anyone who resists the BLD mind control. 

Hosting the show this week (live from the newly opened ‘Byron Stingily Suite’ here at BLD Towers) was resident Esteban, opening a real trunk of funk for the first hour. This set was curated with hip swinging and rump shaking in mind and is all about the filthy bass. It’s a glorious celebration of filthy basslines and jazzy riffs with tracks from Rudy’s Midnight Machine, Harlem Dance Club, The Magic Track, Clavette & Boogietraxx and Sartorial to name but a few. 

And for the second hour of the show we welcome our very special guest making his BLD debut, the supremely talented EverybodyLuvsALF. 

EverybodyLuvsALF is the alter ego of Darren Walker, who is part of the amazing 4Play DJs contingent here in the UK. His influences are firmly in the Motown/Northern Soul and 80’s pop camp and this definitely comes through in his sets. With a CV that includes gigs at The Arches (Glasgow) and a residency in Brel Ashton Lane (Glasgow) as well as some ‘less than legal’ raves, Darren is currently a resident for both 4Play and Trax Radio UK as well as uploading via Mixcloud / SoundCloud. Darren describes his experience of going out most weekends and watching the top DJs play in the early 90’s to present as keeping his passion for the scene alive, as does his love for the music (especially when playing live and watching people dancing and singing along). 

We’re delighted to welcome EverybodyLuvsALF onto the show and know you’re gonna love what this guy has in store.

BLACK LIGHT DISCO is all about the disco, house and funk scene. The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent hailing from England, Scotland and Wales providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy disco basslines. The BLD team presently comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City) and Pookie Knights – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between them. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the edits, re-edits, disco, funk and nu-disco genre. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now. 
 
No-one is safe until everyone is safe, and once we're back to whatever the 'new normal' may be we aim to carry on with the Black Light Disco live events – possibly in a city or town near you.
