The Black Light Disco Show rockets back onto the My House Radio airwaves with another two hour grand sonic spectacle to hitch your wagon to.

This week it’s the turn of Pookie Knights to lead the charge, and they’ve only gone and brought special guest Ben Banjo Field with them! 

In the first hour Ash & Chris will be in the driving seat, spinning some serious quality music from the likes of Young Pulse, Dimitri From Paris, Even Funkier and Husko to name but a few. In the second hour, Ben Banko Field takes over with disco sprinkles aplenty from Hotmood, Babert, Dr Packer, Art of Tones and much more.

After finding the rave scene in 1990, Lee bought his first set of decks a year or two later. Initially influenced by the music in the North West and clubs like Legends (Warrington), The Quad, Cream, The Hacienda he started his music collection and would play at parties, the odd bar gig and create mixtapes for friends.

Fast forward to the turn of the decade (and century!), now living in London, Lee was part of an underground party collective called Most Excellent, putting on parties at various South London venues such as Brockwell Park Lido and The Telegraph (Brixton), playing classic, funky and soulful house music playing alongside a few notable guests like Trevor Fung and Stuart Patterson. 

After a break of about 10 years to get married and start a family, he started listening to the likes of Fingerman, LNTG, The Reflex and was hooked on the underground edits and disco scene. The decks were dusted off and he started to buy music again…

Lee is now proud to be part of the #DiscoWaltons family, a DJ, Producer and music fan collective who frequent the chatrooms of some of the best music shows and livestreams available to humankind!

Wilson Frisk hails from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England. Like many other Dj's Wilson started his musical journey collecting music as a young teenager doing compilations for his friends. In 1994 Wilson started a music fanzine called 'Jackyard Backoff' with his late friend Chris Stephenson which covered the music scene in the north of England. Around 1995 Wilson became involved with a very successful club night called 'Spice' which was his first stint at Dj'ing playing Broken Beat, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and jazz......Wilson has now firmly established himself in the House/Disco scene holding down residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield and been involved with infamous club nights such as Back2Funky, Uno House, Our House, Afro Coalition, Way2Funky, Wallop, GYGO and The House Of Phunk. Currently Wilson is one of the Boombox  Stereo residents who play at the mighty BeatHearder Festival and part of the 4Playdjs Collective who play at the Solfest Festival in Cumbria. The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
