Black Light Disco is back and tripping the light fantastic on the myhouseradio.fm airwaves, ready and indeed willing to soothe your soul kick the melancholy out of your brain housing.
 
This week it’s Goz sitting in the residents chair, and he’ll be guiding you through the first hour with a smug face and whimsical chicanery. He’s been tending to the plants and flowers in the roof garden here at BLD Towers (whilst the weather has been nice), so expect your Phormium and Azaleas to get involved if they’re in listening distance.
 
Joining Goz this week is a very, very special guest from Italy – Lego Edit!
 
Not much is known about this mysterious producer, and we suspect that’s how he prefers it. We do know, however, that he has been DJ’ing and producing music from his home in Bologna since 1985 and that his edits, reworks and productions have been thrilling us for many years. Each Lego Edit release is a funky, vibrant creation that demands your attention. A master of soul, funk and afro, this guy knows the game inside and out.

Goz & Lego Edit - Black Light Disco 20th June 2022

The first hour of episode 85 was an eclectic affair and heavy on the promos, with new bits from Funk Hunk, Sam Redmore, Folkness and others, along with something brand new and a little bit different from me. We covered the bases of nu disco, classic disco, funk, global beats, deep house and more on this little magical mystery tour. 

In the second hour I was filled with joy to hand over to my disco brother Guney Capo, AKA Dr Disco. Guney hails from Gutersloh, Germany and is a talented DJ, producer, label boss and promoter and all round very busy man. He’s starting a brand new night in the area on the 29th July in association with We Funk You Bookings and Deck-O-Dance agency, and I urge you to check it out if you’re in Germany.

Living up to the Dr Disco name, we’re treated to an exquisitely selected mix of only the finest, heavy disco infused cuts. Leaning heavily on hidden disco gems, but mostly consisting of seriously beefed up edits with a whole lot of extra punch, this mix is really something special. Vibes all the way!

This week's special guest is Goozer, a talented DJ who has been a keen follower of the show in recent months. He always plays a lovely uplifting set, and is the perfect vibe for my show ;-)

** GOOZER BIO **
Goozer first fell in love with the house music scene back in the mid '90s as a teenager when his older brother brought home 2 cassettes for me to listen to. The first one was Ministry Of Sound - Sessions 5 by The Masters At Work and the second was Kerri Chandler's Mix The Vibe 'Chaos On King Street'. He was blown away by all of these new songs and artists that he'd never heard before and instantly wanted to know more about this genre of music.

He was quickly introduced to the likes of Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Joey Negro, DJ Spen, Todd Terry, Larry Levan, Blaze, CJ Mackintosh Etc. and never looked back.

He bought my first set of Technics 1210's at the age of 16 and built up huge vinyl collection where he would create mix tapes for his friends. A few years later he started DJ'ing in a few bars and clubs all around the Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham area as well as doing boat parties up and down the River Wear.



The Technics and Vinyl collection have now sadly gone, and he is mixing digitally.  He is prolific in recording DJ mixes, and you can find a huge number of quality sets via his soundcloud page

Black Light Disco swings on the vines that are the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves a dangerous tag team of double trouble - it’s another residents special featuring Goz and Esteban.

These frequent B2B buddies were cooking up something special in the Sonic Distillery here in BLD Towers. We conducted an experiment to test psychic links between the two - asking them to each pick their tracks without consulting the other. The results speak for themselves;  two tracks were repeated so definitely something going on there. Both sets have a great uptempo feel to them and we know you're gonna love this two hours of rump-shaking goodness.

Charly Angelz spent the best part of 2020 working in the studio
during the COVID lockdown producing a string of house & disco tracks in the process! Having lost her DJ residencies like so many other DJ’s due to the pandemic, Charly quickly decided to act on her creativity by jumping into the world of music production!

Charly's first forays into making music coupled with her broad music knowledge and influence has helped her gain instant recognition!, with her tracks being signed to the likes of Tropical Disco, Plastik People, Kolour Recordings, Nervous Records, Blockhead Recordings, Smashing Trax, Disco Balls, Groovy Riddim and more!

With plenty of support from many reputable DJ’s, numerous high
chart positions including number 1’s. Charly is already accomplishing her goal by connecting with people through her
music. She’s on a mission to bring people together; especially
during these tough times and she’ll continue to strive to make
people groove and feel happy!

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
