French producer and musician Frédéric Rivière AKA Anoraak is back, delivering a vibrant ‘sunset inspired’ disco and synthpop tune titled ‘Two Steps’. Incorporating his mesmerizing vocals into an infectious groovy synth hook, he sets the energetic foundations for his euphoric, four to the floor upbeat single, which will be a welcomed addition to any summer playlists going around.

Talking about returning to the more clubby side of his style spectrum, Anoraak explains: "After a couple of years composing mainly organic disco infused tracks and doing many collabs, I felt like bringing back a bit of synthetic sound as well as my own vocals.
I wanted Two Steps to be a dancy track with soft vocals, wrapped up in a pop format."

Despite the pandemic, Anoraak has been very productive, having released an EP on Yuksek’s imprint Partyfine and one lined up on Manchester’s iconic label Paper Recordings, as well as several single releases including the charity compilation For Beirut (alongside Breakbot, Acid Arab, Dimitri From Paris) 
 
With 3 eponymous albums under his belt, numerous EP’s and remixes for artists such as Metronomy, Satin Jackets, Neon Indian and Mika, Anoraak has set himself in the last years as a leading force in the “sunset inspired disco and synthpop” with well over 30 Million streams across all platforms and placements on staple Netflix series You and Atypical.

I quickly began to feel like I was getting dragged along, simply floating through space on a tether. Space sure is beautiful, but it sure was lonely up there. Did this/does this mean to them what it did/does to me?

(One year ago) I fell in ~love~ with someone that simultaneously fell out of love [sic] with me, all as I was about finish college with absolutely no idea what I was going to do with my life. As I assessed the damage in the wake of graduation, and as everyone around me moved forward with their lives while I remained stuck in the same place, these songs came out of me like shrapnel. I used live drums and drum machines to vocode guitars, synths, and pianos to suck the life out of the mixes to echo how life had been sucked out of me. And I used digitally crafted harmonies to lift up my fragile vocals. In succession, they’re about as hollow sonically as I was emotionally, but they look with optimism to resolve at the close- follow along with the lyrics in the track descriptions to better trace the narrative I’m trying to tell and like and share if you're picking up what I'm trying to put down. This isn’t an LP, this is my POV.
