Continues to break boundaries with Her sets balancing on a wide range of sounds, soaked with unconventional rhythms, show an artist with a pure passion for percussive and futuristic beats.

"I love how music can influence us, so I enjoy creating flows within my selections where ethereal sounds serve as a guiding thread, weaving through deep, bass-heavy tones that maintain a delicate balance. This lets you feel like you’re floating with the unearthly pads while staying grounded by bass. I like to play with moments of tension and release, believing that moving between these extremes can bring a lot to the surface from the listener itself."

So happy to share the recording from my last set at Open Ground from December 2024. 

It was an emotional journey ~ I wanted to tell a story of diving into underwater dream lands, where spirit guides and glitchy creatures meet and send us messages from the other side... where sound takes over the brain and opens something in the heart and body.
I waved through many genres ~ ambient, jungle, electro, dubstep, drill, jazz, techno and the wonky in-between. It felt like I had the chance to express a fuller spectrum of who I am as a music lover. 🙏

That night, I had the honour of opening for the legend Surgeon ~ someone who’s deeply inspired my path since the very beginning. Sharing that moment with him and connecting was just wow. 🥹

Open Ground truly is one of the most special places on earth ~ the care, the sound, the freedom, the community, the crew… just perfection.

After starting the mini Dekmantel Selectors podcast series two years ago, it feels like a tradition to bring it back to life. In the next couple of months, we will release 6 podcasts by some of the exciting artists from the line-up. This year’s podcasts challenges the artists to work around a theme or idea they picked theirselves. After Lena Willikens's turn, we've asked Brilliant Corners's very own Donna Leake for the last Selectors podcast of the year.

Donna Leake, the music programmer at Brilliant Corners (a cosy bar and music venue in East London), is the kind of DJ who casts a wide net, spreading her sets across many musical disciplines all in the name of playing music that just feels right in the moment. This will be Leake's first time touching down at our humble festival, and we can't wait to see just where the adventurous selector will end up taking us.

In his hometown of Basel where he is a resident at techno institution Elysia, @garcon’s name is synonymous with extended, expertly structured DJ sets rich in nuance and intensity. Co-owner of @amenthia-recordings with long-time collaborator @agonis-amenthia, the two have shared the unique artistic vision embodied by their label.

Combining elements that span a diverse musical landscape, Garçon’s mixes tend to be rhythmically, texturally and stylistically diverse, grounded in techno but always delving deeper and further afield. His Patterns of Perception 38 is no exception.
