and they've been growing for a while now
ive spent the last 5 years learning things i already know

and i hate getting sunburnt every time i relearn but its the only thing that works
the only thing that leaves a scar
whats keeping me going is knowing ill never relearn everything but one day ill know enough to get by
scars covering my body like stomata
opening and closing with the rising and setting sun
each one helping me breathe a just a little bit better

i find the mapquest in the glovebox
and im reminded when my life was so much worse
the forecasts clear today
but i can see rain from the clouds in the distance
and i could tell something was wrong
cuz everything felt right

im perfectly still with a hose at my feet
waiting for an ocean to form beneath me
thought millions of times i could fly if i want to
but the laws of nature wont change that easily
