Sinoatrial [ disquiet0538 ]

Fin d'Orage - 'the end of a storm', uses dissonance, comprising about a dozen different string samples, to depict the chaos of a storm, which could be meteorological or emotional. The storm resolves to drops of rain falling from trees, represented by harp and bell sounds.

First and middle part made with Norns (Awake script). First part sequencing 1010 LemonDrop, middle part the built-in Awake engine through Hologram Microcosm. Last part was also Norns (Sines script). Arranged in Ableton with additional reverb and delay from ValhallaDSP.

I thought about a couple of things whilst I was making this. Firstly, how many people would recognise the default Awake sequence? Secondly, is the track too short (maybe the calmer bit needs to be longer)?

Cheesy Five (disquiet0540)

Created a couple pieces in winter of 2024 for an old friend's project. It contains sounds from an Italian TV show about the Versificatore, a poetry-writing machine. In the process of making this I fell in love with a few specific sounds and made a companion piece that focused on those.
