Manifest Destiny is the music that debuts freshman rapper Be Living Motivation GRIPAZEEM, or simply BLM GRIPAZEEM. The project is expected to be released on all digital platforms before May 2023. According to Spangled, Manifest Destiny is the pursuit of amassing vast wealth, and the project will be released for May 2023. The project artwork is inspired by the illustration work of @binty_art (instagram) and with contributions from musicians 2MarchBaby and Wacks Doe.



At Spangled, we understand the importance of manifestation along with speaking things in to existence. We hold the western philosophy of existentialism in high-esteem. Therefore, historical events such as the Peculiar Institution (slavery) or the Trail of Tears (ethnic cleansing) only serve as patterned prophecies if you allow them to. We associate Manifest Destiny with the law of attraction. We wish to grapple with the individual, generational and historical trauma that humankind may face.



BLM GRIPAZEEM is a London rapper intent on transforming the meaning behind pre-existing notions of dominion by imperial powers, but also the subject of placing inferiority on to others because of their protected characteristics. In this example the protected characteristic at hand is race. Manifest Destiny is originally a term often credited to newspaper editor John Sullivan.



What is Manifest Destiny? According to History.com it is ‘a phrase coined in 1845, is the idea that the United States is destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent’. According to KhanAcademy.org it is ‘the idea that white Americans were divinely ordained to settle the entire continent of North America. The ideology of Manifest Destiny inspired a variety of measures designed to remove or destroy the native population’. According to Brittanica.com it ‘is the supposed inevitability of the continued territorial expansion of the boundaries of the United States westward to the Pacific and beyond’.

BLM GRIPAZEEM is known for his transatlantic ties from America to Africa. That, and a lifestyle that is often associated with polarised experiences. This is exactly the reason his music presents nuances of street/road aesthetics.

Known affectionately as Gripz, his retrospective thoughts are of an innovative style of rap that’s both inventive and intellectual. BLM GRIPAZEEM is known for painting pictures with his words. He founded Gripping Records, a Spangled subsidiary, as vehicle to release his debut projects ‘Manifest Destiny’. Manifest Destiny is dubbed the title of his first single and Extended Play (EP).
