this is my soundtrack to the following scenario: 

imagine it is a warm and sunny sunday afternoon. you were chosen to play on a wonderfully decorated dancefloor in the middle of apple & cherry trees. a lovely crowd of super sweet humans is dancing in the sun, getting lost in the fog from time to time. love is in the air. soap bubbles, prosecco & bengalos as well. it's not even time for sunset but suddenly the sky turns orange (my favorite colour). life is good <3

Phauna is a member of the infamous Partiklub @PartiKlub030 as well as the MIT DIR Festival Crew @MITDIRFestival and co-founder of FEMQUENCY @femquency. Her musical style varies between playful dark minimal/techno and groovy bass music or house with love for musical twists and a lot of bass. Fast and slow, from techno to tender. She released in different collaborations and features various styles with more in the making.
 
Phauna ist Mitbegründerin von FEMQUENCY und Mitglied des berüchtigten Partiklubs sowie der MIT DIR Festival Crew. Ihr Musikstil variiert zwischen verspieltem, dunklem Minimal/Techno und groovigen House mit Liebe zu musikalischen Wendungen. Schnell und langsam, von mild bis wild. Hier und da wird auch gesungen.

 Wie würdest Du Deinen Sound beschreiben?
minimal techno, dark groove, house & (a)more. Ich muss fühlen, was ich spiele. Die Trackauswahl kommt meistens erst wenige Stunden zuvor zusammen und dann entscheidet der Moment. Was für mich aber nie fehlen darf, ist ein gewisser Groove/Drive oder eine Bassline, an der man sich festhalten kann. Mal wild, mal mild, Hauptsache die Ohren werden gekitzelt.

Du bist ja selbst in einem Kollektiv sehr aktiv. Hast du Lust uns mehr über das Projekt zu erzählen? 
FEMQUENCY ist ein Kollektiv, das seit einigen Jahren DJ Workshops für FLINTA* und Events organisiert. Seit der Gründung ist das Kollektiv ein integraler Bestandteil meines Lebens und nicht mehr wegzudenken. Es fordert und gibt gleichzeitig so viel zurück, es ist schwer beschreiben. Ich bin einfach krass dankbar für alle Menschen, die das Projekt ermöglichen und ganz genauso dafür brennen. Zu erleben, wie wir nicht nur uns, sondern auch das Projekt stetig weiterentwickeln, macht mich stolz. Es bedeutet für mich gelebtes Verständnis, Selbstermächtigung und Rückhalt, der ansteckend ist.

Meine DJ Gigs haben mir enorm bei meiner persönlichen Entwicklung und Entfaltung geholfen. Musik machen schenkt mir Selbstvertrauen und Akzeptanz für Fehler, die einfach unabdingbar zu jedem Prozess dazugehören. Dieses Gefühl wünsche ich einfach so vielen Menschen wie möglich und vor allem marginalisierten Gruppen, die durch patriarchalische Strukturen unterdrückt wurden und werden. Das versuchen wir mit FEMQUENCY zu ermöglichen und erste Werkzeuge an die Hand zu geben, um sich den Raum zu nehmen, der einem zusteht. Um Zwänge zu durchbrechen, Herausforderungen zu meistern und zu lernen, Fehler zu zelebrieren.

It’s actually funny to think about that my very first pick on Instagram ever was from Fusion in 2012. I try to think about all the incredible memories this festival has given me over the years. The friendships that were forged there, the romances that were started there, long nights and even longer mornings, talking, laughing, dancing. It feels quite surreal that I was there this year, playing the biggest stage! I’ve asked myself a million times, is this a dream? I’ve seen so many artists I love, admire and adore playing Turmbühne, some of the biggest names in the industry. Rødhåd, Ben Klock, Kink, Nastia, Solomun. It was a little intimidating and humbling, I was nervous and excited at the same time. What an honor to be trusted to keep this massive floor going. This was without doubt the most important set of my career.

Took me a little while to wind down and process what happened at Fusion. Pfiouuuuuu… what a ride 🚀

So grateful to have gotten the chance again to contribute to this incredible festival. Playing sunset at Seebühne on Saturday evening to a sea of people, friends, family & so many familiar faces was such a dream coming true! Thank you all for coming & the vibes 🥹

I actually got the request to play at Seebühne quite last minute, just 3 weeks before the festival and with just 1,5 weeks left in the studio… F*ck me, this was stressful - as it was so important for me to show you what I’ve been working on in the studio, to play a set that’s fresh, truly feels like me and tells a story, like I always try to do. I also wanted it to be uplifting and create something that feels like a little breather - with everything that’s going on in today’s world.

It was pretty stressful and everything but easy to finish all these tunes in such a short period of time & find the right puzzle pieces (probably also because of my high expectations to myself) but from all the love and sweet messages that I’ve been receiving so far I guess I must have done an alright job 🫠

So yeah, thank you so much for all your love and appreciation and for more than 10k plays already! Truly means a lot🫰

…and it can’t be said enough, thank you Fusion! You absolutely nailed it!! So grateful for this wonderland without phones on the dancefloor, filled with so much love, art, surprises, the best music & most insane production… ❤️‍🔥

Stell dir vor du suchst ne Nadel im Heuhaufen - und der Heuhaufen liegt irgendwo inner Wüste.🌵 

Stampede zwischen emotionalen Durchmacherinnen und Sonntagsticketfrischi's. Im Endeffekt eh perfekt - denn ich freu mich euch endlich den heterogensten Setauflauf meiner Musikzeit aufzutischen. Irgendwo zwischen Gefühl und Abriss liegt dieser ganz persönliche Happy Place. Erste Stunde: Abriss. Zweite Stunde: Emotion.

& so pipapo 10 Jahre nach meiner allerersten Fusion kann ich immer noch kaum fassen, dass beinahe alle keken Cuties die mich so lange nun schon durch die Musik begleiten zu so einer unchristlichen Uhrzeit auf dem Acker zum Sektfrühstück warn - Ich lieb euch alle so unendlich doll.
