Cones are Jonathan and Michael Rosen, two brothers from San Francisco who make far-out, addictive pop music in Los Angeles. Jonathan, the band's singer and principal songwriter, is also a middle school art teacher and a visual artist whose trippy hand-drawn animations and drawings have been styled for artists such as Erykah Badu, Toro y Moi, Pond and Eleanor Friedberger, and is a contributing cartoonist for The New Yorker magazine. Michael is a classically trained pianist, composer and producer who carefully crafts their recordings at his Los Angeles studio Honeymoon Suite, and additionally works as a software engineer at THX in the world of spatial audio. Together, Jonathan's intuitive, abstract approach and Michael's technical prowess combine to create what Tiny Mix Tapes describe as "crisp, tuneful, spontaneous bursts of sound and color."
 
After a string of acclaimed singles and their debut album Pictures Of Pictures (2019), Cones are back with their second album, Almanac. Written and recorded during the first year of the pandemic, Almanac proves true to its namesake, acting as a musical cartograph encapsulating the brothers’ experience of such a perplexing time in history. 
 
The captivating new record offers up an intoxicating blend of shimmering psychedelic exploration, nostalgic lyrics,  and muscular pop craftsmanship, complete with infectious hooks and deep grooves that simultaneously hint at everything from Big Star and the Replacements to ELO and the Bee Gees. Mind-bending bass lines, euphoric synthesizers, deliciously crunchy guitar riffs and twisting vocal melodies all coalesce into a one-of-a-kind psychedelic sound that works equally well blaring from speakers at a party or on headphones late at night. 

The brothers draw on their radically different backgrounds here to remarkable effect, with each bringing their own unique history to the project in perfect complement to the other. The result is a whole far greater than the sum of its parts, a record that feels at once futuristic and vintage, spontaneous and deliberate, playful and profound.
 
Stereogum applaud Cones as a "wonderfully groovy synth-pop delight," and KCRW approve of their "easy breezy SoCal feel we love so much." Jonathan and Michael themselves liken their music to "candy in a conch shell." Almanac is the product of two restlessly creative minds drawing from all corners of their imagination. The result is an immediately delightful yet profound listen, a thrilling album built for warm evenings with friends and long drives down the coast.

Mikey G, notorious for his hard-hitting, unique sets, is a DJ from Birmingham, now living in Leicester, UK.
Mikey grew up listening to a wide variety of dance music and was heavily influenced by the bass heavy music being played around the midlands. He gained a huge interest in Drum & Bass, Garage and Bassline/Speed Garage. 

Having been to hundreds of dance events, he decided to learn to DJ himself and began honing his skills, and was soon booked to play at local club nights. 

He started playing at various Drum & Bass events around the UK and supported numerous big name DJ’s across the scene. He became interested in ‘Jackin House’ and ‘House & Bass’, new styles of music giving a fresh twist on the Garage tunes he grew up listening to. 

He began DJ’ing at events regularly across the Midlands and as his popularity grew, so did his busy Dj’ing schedule - which is now frequently jam-packed, playing for many various club nights in the D&B and Bass House scene. 

In August 2015 Mikey was asked to play at the closing party at Summerfest, a world leading skydive event in Chicago USA. After delivering a 6hr non-stop marathon set, he didn't disappoint! 

Mikey plays at many events based around the Midlands and has gained residencies at nights including Nostalgia, Toxsikk, Latenight Bass, Lips, Wheel It Up, DNA and Houseproud as well as playing at festivals such as Forbidden Forest & Xstatic. 

He has been asked to guest on numerous radio shows including Demon FM, Radio 2 Funky & Loco London as well as appearing on numerous online live streams especially during the Pandemic where he regularly kept fans entertained with his own mixes and guest appearances. 

Mikey regularly posts live mixes on his Soundcloud page which have gained a large world-wide audience and are eagerly anticipated by many. 

His recent Collateral Damage mix series has had a huge response and he has now introduced his Mikey G & Friends mix series where he will be inviting top Drum and Bass MC's to feature on his mixes. 

He ensures any mix or live set he does has lots of energy and ground-shaking bass to keep the crowd dancing from start to finish.
