I'm a former music columnist, biographer and music reviewer for a handful of Northwest Ohio publications, as well as for the All Music Guide.

I've played in various bands over the years. When I started in my teens, I had a group called Obelisk with two of my cousins. The name was inspired by the object on the front of Led Zeppelin's album 'Presence.' I also played guitar, sang vocals and wrote for an original band called Fuzgunn, played lead guitar for three tribute bands (Achilles Last Band and Hammer of the Frauds covering Led Zeppelin and Death to the Pixies covering the music of, you guessed it, the Pixies), bass in a group called The Tri-Lateral Commission and drums for TheScottTrio, as well as for two practices with Prayers for Rain. All of these groups were in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio.

One of my latest projects is called Constitution of Lum. The name stems from an interview that I had done with The Who's bassist John Entwistle years ago. When I asked him how he had received the nickname "The Ox", he simply replied, "Because I have the constitution of lum (note: "lum" is Scottish for chimney). You can hit me over the head with a bottle, and I'll just ask 'What did you do that for?'".

In February 2014, my old group TheScottTrio reunited, however, re-named itself Glass Swamp after a local product that Toledo was once known for, as well as the region in which the band lives - the Great Black Swamp.

There was a great underground music scene during the ‘90s in Youngstown, OH. Being only 20 minutes or so from my hometown of New Castle, PA, I was fortunate enough to get to hear a lot of those great bands. I felt even luckier when I got to play a few shows there during it’s heyday too. 

Since the turn of the century, with many musicians from that era moving on to new aspects of life, I’ve had trouble keeping a band together. I still had way too much I needed to get out though. So I started recording on my own under the names "Significant Nothing" and "Unending Bane".

In 2025, Vibrio Cholerae Records also printed & released my other band "Raiding Horde". Of course, this  CD was distributed by Depressive Illusions Records too.
