The 84th edition of Juicebox Radio welcomes the stalwart duo from Cyprus - Angelos Pavlides (Paul Angelo) & Argyris Panagi (Don Argento). Having taken inspiration from early trance, techno, cinematic and rock music, Paul & Don's musical approach can be often defined as walking the line between progressive house and melodic techno. Besides being regulars releasing on Tash's 'Movement', their appearance can also be found on Kamilo Sanclemente & Juan Pablo Torrez's 'Clubsonica', Paul Thomas' 'UV', Morttagua's 'Timeless Moment' and more. We got to know Dan Only, an exciting emerging artist from the Toronto underground, when he collaborated with Jesse Futerman on our recent “Deep Love 2017” compilation. His debut record, released on Adam Marshall’s “New Kanada” imprint, introduced his deep instinct for electronic music and unique, boundless approach to deep house. An avid collector of old school gear you can hear the analogue warmth throughout this intricately detailed yet heavy hitting four-tracker.

“It’s Clear” opens. A solid House jam, its thumping drums and resonating melodies follow a steady bass groove ready to heat up the dance floor. “Be Major…Believe” leads in more gently before warbling key lines and synth details layer over gritty percussion pushing the mood closer and closer to bursting. This one conjures images of summer nights and distant coast lines.

On the B, simmering vocals and tropical rhythms dance amongst straight forward house energies on “Don’t You Understand”. Rich with subtleties, it’s somehow smooth while seriously impactful. Finally we have “Truffles". A very modern twist on Disco vs House it’s an original Italo infused gem with an edit feel, that maintains the vibe of an 80s era hedonistic night throughout. Perfect as a peak time mood elevator or blissful, hands-in-the-air closing record.

We’re convinced Dan Only’s future is bright and are overwhelmed by the quality and musicality of this, his first solo EP on Dirt Crew Recordings.

After reaching 100k subscribers on YouTube, the channel Houseum cross over to the next step with the launch of their new label Houseum Records. 

Their first release ‘The Four J’s’ features four bumping house tropes from channel regulars @bellairemusic, @subjoi, @gavinco and @jesse-bru. This release represents the achievement of the work done on the channel by releasing four tracks with four differing, infectious vibes.

We're so glad to share ‘Show Yourself’ by the Australian Subjoi which is a rhythmic and soothing track, punctured by a pulsating sample. A groove that is as introspective as it is joyful.

This week we have a very special guest for you! Our long time friend, dj and producer Youri Laduch from the Netherlands.  His passion for music started since he was a child. He played different kinds of instruments and started to listen to electronic music in his teenager years. His affection for electronic music started to grow and he decided to give it a try, with succes! After playing electronic music in different  clubs and festivals, he started to create his own. From there on, he experimented with different styles and hardware to create his own unique sound. So be ready for this amazing techno set from Laduch!

Could you introduce yourself?
I'm a dutch producer with lot of passion for techno. I played on a lot of festivals and clubs around Europe which inspired me to make my own music. Take a look on my spotify or soundcloud and find out what i made in the last year.

Which intro did you use in your set and why?
I'm really excited about entrepreneurs which have a common ground in what wisdom is. Most of them don't really take care about you or neither me. I've used a speach of Ricardo Semler which inspired me for lot's of things that i do in my daily life. I hope this man can inspire a lot of more huge entrepreneurs to be carefull of our world!

Did you use your own tracks? If so, which ones?
Yes, but can't tell about the track title because it's not released yet ;)

Are there any upcoming gigs?
Everywhere.. i hope xD

Tanzbeamte S03E04 by Laduch - Enablers Of The World

A perfect example of something that is delicious because it is sweet, bitter and sour at the same time is today’s fantastic cocktail by Fejká. His smooth creation for Schirmchendrink is a very desirable sip, and the light sugary melodies but sour and sometimes bitterish melancholy is a flavor that is absolutely lovable!

Based in Stuttgart, Brian Zajak, aka Fejká, began his musical career at the age of 17. Torn between the atmospheric vibe and the calm of ambient music, as well as the state of absolute ecstasy that provokes the powerful beat of techno, Fejká couldn’t decide which direction his music production would take. Thus, he decided to experiment with both.

Drawn to artists such as Christian Löffler, HVOB and Kiasmos, the appeal of his style lies in its varied influences, and ability to harness the best of two contrasting genres. It was Christian Löffler himself who approached him, leading to his Debut EP "Twilight" which was released 2017 on Löffler’s Label Ki Records. 

His highly anticipated Debut Album "Reunion" has just been released, also on Ki Records. It is a hugely expansive record that frequently shifts gears between driving rhythms and endless soundscape. Fejká developed a sound with a rich sense of song-craft & melody alongside his ambient deep-house foundations, and we’re happy to hear one of his album tracks in this mix.
