We are very honored to feature DJ Ruby for the 60th episode of our show!

DJ Ruby is the most prolific underground dance music artist who loomed from the party island of Malta, amassing a huge fan base that follows him unconditionally, as well as an established name throughout the global dance music industry, mainly in the progressive scene.

Renowned for curating flawless journey sets and delivering an energetic positive party vibe wherever he performs, DJ Ruby is considered a true pioneer of his caliber, a hard-working and modest person who has always matured with the scene. He now boasts 30 years of experience, in which he obtained countless achievements and acclaims which are impossible to mention all in a few lines.

DJ Ruby is responsible for being a major force in starting and shaping Malta’s elite dance music scene into what it is today. For many years, he hosted countless events under the Pure Promotions brand, setting trends for various clubbing concepts on the island, and introducing multiple generations to electronic dance music.

An active career that started in the early 90s, and still going strong to date, saw DJ Ruby being featured at Malta’s most notable dance events, opening for many of the world’s legendary names such as Faithless, The Prodigy, Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Sven Vath & Nick Warren, as well as holding residencies at influential dance music institutions in the country, including a billing at all Renaissance parties in Malta throughout the 2000’s decade.

Over the years, DJ Ruby’s gig diary has formed to be more like an atlas. He has performed in every continent of the world and is still regularly touring to play in venues all over the globe. From New York to Sydney, to London, there is no clubbing city or destination that DJ Ruby hasn’t experienced as a DJ. Apart from performing in clubs & underground parties, he was also featured at notorious festivals such as Timewarp, Ozora, Transmission, Berlin’s Love Parade, Creamfields, and Tomorrowland Unite.

As a music producer, DJ Ruby holds a vast discography of his own productions, remixes, 3 albums, and multiple compilations. Many of his tracks are regularly supported by the planet’s leading DJs, with most of his music always finding a place in Beatport charts or selections.

Late in January 2021, with most of the world's dance music scene still on a standstill, I was lucky enough to travel and perform in one of the very few countries where parties are actually happening! It has been 5 months since my last gig at a real public event, so this was a huge blessing for me.

Henry García nació en 1982 en la ciudad de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, más conocido por su nombre artístico The Funk Fabric.

 

Desde muy temprana edad despertó su interés por la música techno a mediados de los 90 comenzando toda su carrera musical a los 13 años de edad. Su carrera como DJ comenzó cuando se interesó por tocar en fiestas de amigos y otros eventos privados donde residia y asistia a la escuela.

 

Con el tiempo tuvo la oportunidad de destacarse por su gran habilidad con la música, ya los 16 años obtuvo su primer trabajo como DJ Residente en uno de los clubs más populares donde vivía.

 

Con el paso de los años su estilo ha ido evolucionando hasta identificarse con el Deep House & Progressive House, entre sus influencias artísticas del género se encuentran DJS y productores de renombre como: Fernando Ferreyra, Sebastian Busto, Hernan Cattaneo, Volen Sentir, Tim Green, Enigmatic, DSF , Modd, Sebastien Léger, Roy Rosenfeld, Nick Warren, Lee Burridge, Yotto, entre otros.

 

Sus Sets se caracterizan por utilizar sonidos armoniosos y melódicos que generan una sensación de alegría, paz y emoción.

 

Ha participado como Dj Guest en Elektrona Radio AR, Dinamica Radio AR, Spirituality Radio Show AR con (Alberto Van Vazquez) & Suprema Radio 105.3 FM Argentina. También ha sido invitado por Popular Electronic Music Clubs en Boston, Virginia y Miami Florida USA.

 

Actualmente reside en Miami Florida donde trabaja y estudia en Producción de Música Electrónica.

Fresh from providing Nātiv Records’ first-ever release last year via Freedom Call / Electro Shock, renowned UK artist Nick Warren has made an anticipated return to the label  with Dead Eyes Opened. The three release is a collaboration with Argentinian producer Nicolas Rada.

Nick described how his formative club years were an inspiration behind the release, stating: “I can remember dancing to Dead Eyes Opened by Severed Heads in a nightclub called The Coven in Oxford in the early 80's. I loved it and have always wanted to do a cover. I finally got around to copying the melodies and Nic Rada loved the idea, so this is what we came up with.”
