Opening 2022's final quarter, Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Mike Griego back to the label for a new EP. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean DJ and producer has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His exacting design, addictive grooves and avant-garde melodies have made for a transcendent sound that continues to unify dancefloors around the world. With a career that now approaches fifteen years and one hundred discography credits, Mike would have to be considered one of progressive music's elite artists. A meticulous discography reflects his choosy nature; with Replug and Sudbeat serving as the primary landing spots for his musical output. With 2021 being highlighted by his most recent Replug vehicle ‘Dysbiosis', the Argentine made a much-lauded return to Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music earlier this year with ‘Foreign Affair', before laying down impressive renditions of Kasper Koman's ‘In Circles' and Dmitry Molosh & Navar's ‘Foreign Wonders', released c/o Juicebox Music and Proportion respectively. Now, continuing what has been a great year, Mike returns to Replug with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Flying Doves'. 

As a favourite of Replug label boss Cid Inc across the summer season, EP opener and title selection ‘Flying Doves' finds Mike at his creative best. Shot in high-definition and full of detail and drive, it's an emotive voyage where the Buenos Aires resident flexes his freethinking muscles and lands comfortably in-between groove-centric science and hopeful musicality. The inevitable zenith of this peak-time excursion mounts with nostalgic melodies and balmy harmonics converging, achieving a rich, colourful timbre over a bed of pulsating beats and fascinating percussion arrangements. 

More enigmatic yet is the EPs second selection 'Brothi'', a creation which finds Mike etching towards a darker monochrome. Plush kick drums and voluptuous bass stabs lead to electrified iterations of new age sonics. Cleverly cadenced coactions underpin a fascinating blend of pyrotechnic effects, before segueing into the main break where metallic melodies and effervescent rides unite, setting the course for a finale of rebounding rhythms and surreal sonic aesthetics.

The third and final selection 'Blood Echo' further solidifies Mike's transcendent abilities. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, the Argentine works hypnotizing structures over punchy kick drums and detailed percussion, creating waves of locomotive meditation. Its thrilling pulse has become a production hallmark for Mike, one where inventive drum patterns, mesmerizing rhythms and quixotic effects carry the storyboard onwards to a thunderous dance floor awakening. A fitting conclusion to a fresh three-track odyssey, one where Mike carefully balances technique and musicality, thus continuing his tenure as one of Argentina's most beloved progressive house producers.

The principles of humanity depend on the decade system, so it is not surprising that the number ten has a special significance. The tenth release of Guy Mantzur's label proves the point. How do you appreciate those special moments and the good times in your life?
Whatever makes you happy, music always enhances the emotion behind it. Simon Vuarambon, a Swiss living in Argentina, is a producer with a dozen years of experience. His debut release on Moments is a game-changer. Not only for his successful career but also for the label.
A three-track material takes over twenty breathtaking minutes to display outstanding technical skill and passion.
The opening track, Afrika, floats on a smooth groove with hypnotic synth lines and traces of tribal elements. Meco continues the impeccable drum structure but goes deeper into melancholia and peaks with the memorable lead. Oasis is an exemplary closing track and a thought-provoking finale.
Every one of Simon's tracks has a one-hundred percent individual weight. However, listening to them as a piece indicates the praiseworthy delivery of an uncompromising concept.

A veteran of more than a century of production credits dating back to a 2008 debut, Kasper Koman has seen his work signed to myriad high-profile labels including the likes of Plattenbank, Anjunadeep and Guy J's Lost & Found. From central Netherlands, Kasper has combined trademark emotion with a powerful and evocative sound that has seen his music supported by such leading tastemakers as Guy Mantzur, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J himself. Now debuting on Meanwhile, the "Sinking Sky" opener is characterised by a driving beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern. A running 16th note bassline pattern enters the fray in the second movement with a fizzing vibrancy provided by resonating and filtered effects. A cast of additional characters add to the overall sonic landscape including a beautifully juxtaposed pad progression. A spine-tingling breakdown provides acetylene-edged emotion via the extended bassline motif, before hitting its stride once more in the latter stages to wondrous effect and no small amount of production talent. "Biome" continues the narrative of raw effects-laden power, while a strong kick lays the foundation for a piercing percussive groove, adding swing to the off-beat. A well-crafted sonic palette supplies a soft chord progression of Kraftwerk-inspired imagination as a meandering array of well-placed effects, white-noise washes and rasping bass notes create a mosaic of sounds. The result is a hypnotic, angular offering that keeps listener interest piqued without a central melody seeing the 6-minute piece fly past in an instant. From Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean coast Golan Zocher & Choopie cross cultural and music boundaries with “Sayonara”. A strong, hypnotic beat and urgent percussion capture the image of stark Bauhaus architecture while a pitched synth lead bends its will to the rhythm of the city. Pulsating energy caught in a confluence of aural ideas and arpeggiated order create a sonic superhighway.
