Jakobin is the solo project of DJ and producer Georg Nadler. Growing up in the 90s in rural upper Austria, Georg spent his time skateboarding and listening to lots of hip hop before witnessing the halcyon days of the Vienna downbeat era and later being introduced to Austrias club culture. Pursuing his growing passion for collecting vinyl, Georg started spinning his first records in the notorious „Kijani“ in Linz. There he invited Djs like the Vienna Scientists or the one and only Mr. Slack Hippy. After moving to Vienna, Georg had a two year residency alongside future label mate Simon Lebon in the Donau Techno, Vienna’s first adress for Techno music back then. While his gigs at the „Donau Techno“ helped him explore the deeper shades of techno, acid and electro, he also began spinning disco and house records with his long time friend Dominik Huber. Quickly getting immersed in Viennas electronic music scene, the duo started producing and DJing under the Moniker Jakobin & Domino and became founding members of Luv Shack Records in 2011. After a number of successful releases on Luv Shack and several EPs for the legendary Chicago label Large Records, Jakobin & Domino became a staple in the Viennese house scene and played several gigs in Berlin, Paris or Geneva. Recently he also teamed up with his other longtime friend and Artist Peletronic, releasing EPs on Fortunea Records and Hungarian Hot Wax under the Jakobin & Peletronic moniker. Jakobins sound is a testament to years of open minded record collecting, encompassing influences from downbeat, hip hop, techno, disco, house, funk, afro and jazz. His growing collection of analog gear also helped shape his productions as of late, and so it comes as no surprise that his first solo track was picked up by the highly acclaimed Futureboogie recordings in 2020.

german musician, producer, DJ and owner of label Smooth Talk
Music based in Berlin. He combines classic House vibes with jazzy
atmospheres and acid influences. His sound invites the listeners to a
sophisticated time to dance, chill and good drinks. His stage name
summarizes his way of working on new tracks and mixes, which often
arise from nightly music sessions. Robert is also the playlist editor for
the berlin radio station FluxFM, where he lives out his love to other
genre like indie, pop and electronics. So far, Midnight Sessions had
releases & premieres on Smooth Talk Music, Berlin House Music,
FluxFM, Moskalus, Gazzz696, SlothBoogie, Sengiley Recordings &
Premiere TBX.

Despite there being no clubs open for the majority of 2020, it was a brilliant year for music to be played in them - I can't wait for them to reopen, as I've got so much mint stuff to be played, could do a 7-day vinyl set! Anyway, this 2-hour mix highlights some of my favourite vinyl purchases from 2020, covering deep house (the proper stuff, not what Beatport think it is...), acid, minimal-esque bits, heavier tech-edged sounds - regardless of the genre, essentially it's just a selection of quality electronic music & that's all which matters! I've also stuck in a couple of my own upcoming 12"s, both due out in the next few weeks, as a little exclusive.
