La Collectif presents Oh See - 01.03.22

Friday the 4th of March 8pm UK time.  Show number 3 kicks off 2022 with a very special guest spot, one of my besties, Tim Cook AKA Sousk. We were supposed to record this show in January but then January became February and because of a few reschedules we are now suddenly in March.  

A nearly 3hr live stream where I set the vibes warming up for Sousk.  He takes over with his true to the underground sound playing House and Techno.  Then to hand over the decks back to me to finish off with some more deeper underground House and Techno moving up through the gears as we groove.

Sousk from Portsmouth UK is what I would like to label him as a purist.  He has only ever stuck to his underground sounds and never ventured or strayed away from them over all the years I have known him.  Not one to follow a single trend, in fact he avoids them and often detests them.  He is one of the best Underground Producers i know who consistently releases Banger after Banger.  Supported by some of the best in the industry now featuring on some best labels around.   His latest release is on Rhythm Cult with support from none other than Laurent Garnier.  Along with productions on Science Cult, International DJ Gigolos, Souvenir & Lucidflow.  

Not only a producer but a very cool Dj who has a monthly slot on Bloop London Radio.  When he does get behind the decks you know it's going to be a solid groove with deep underground vibes.  He has a unique style of mixing and will often bang in the next track creating more energy on top of more energy.  Very underrated in my opinion.   We met behind the decks way back and became instant friends like we already knew each other and have remained great friends ever since.  Not only a Dj / Producer but also a record label owner of Wolf Trap Records where you will find a heap of underground releases.

I have played in many clubs around the world during dark times.  I remember the time my gig got cancelled as i was about to fly to Tbilisi after Russia invaded my wife's home land Georgia back in 2008. When the world did nothing to help them as the forces moved the borders still occupied by Russians to this day.  Or when i played in Moscow the club was evacuated due to a bomb scare in the middle of my set.  The time i played in Tel-Aviv the week after the club was bombed. We have lived with terrorist threats in the UK all my life...  Life must go on and music is great way to escape & connect us all as it has no boundaries or borders, it's truly international.

Our new episode of the Blankhaus Podcast Series delivered by @samthetard

He is an Industrial/transportation designer based in Chicago. His full time job involves designing everything from cars, boats and RV’s to furniture and household products. He attended the College for Creative Studies in Detroit where studied transportation design and fell in love with the city and its rich electronic music scene. Ever since a friend and coworker introduced him to DJing and mixing, he have been making mixes in his spare time expressing feelings and musical tastes of the moment. 

This mix is a snapshot of a more minimal and dubby sound that Sam loves to play when he's at home listening to records. To cap off the mix, Sam included one of our latest releases, an absolutely gorgeous 8 minute roller from Conoley Ospovat that perfectly encapsulates his sonic pallet; groovy, melodic and restrained.
