Record Sounds Like: A modern take on classic 90s dance, reminiscent of: Röyksopp, Plaid, Mr. Oizo, The Chemical Brothers, Funkstorung, Autechre, The Chemical Brothers, Phil Western, Underworld, Luke Chable and Hybrid.

[metadata_records] is an imprint for Dark Arps. In this follow-up EP, Jon delivers four dancefloor dreamscapes, dripping with melodic motifs and irresistible grooves. The title track ‘Phantasy’ kicks off our psychedelic journey through repeating, evolving acid lines, underlaid with thick, alternating basstones. Crispy snares and percussive breakbeat patterns carry the groove, leading us to crescendos and soaring piano-and-string melodies. ‘Jumbo Rafiki’ takes a left turn, bopping down into shuffled, broken-house territory with chord-stacked riffs and funky bassline interjections, augmented by mysteriously detuned bells which lift us up to triumphant heights. Then, with another left turn we crash back down to the depths with ‘Python State’, a deeper exploration of minimal house, oozing with atmospheric appeal, the main riff invoking a latin flavour with synthetic, other-worldly modular synthesis in support. ‘Phantasy (Reprize)’ brings our journey full-circle with a final acid-rip along driving shorelines of progressive breaks, re-introducing melodic players we encountered at the beginning of the expedition, evolved into something darker, as the EP comes to its conclusion.

He was involved greatly in the parties that unfolded in the early 90's around a bunch of people from Nottingham, his home town, who were DiY Sound System. He runs Buslife Records and Deep Cartel Recordings.

Hurlee’s ‘Favourite Jazz’ ranks very high amongst the discerning public’s best loved tracks on Suol and we are very happy to have him back with a brand new release.
The ‘Dubby Feelings’ EP is a two-tracker that showcases the latest step in the evolution of the Spaniard’s deep-yet-bouncy House style.
First up is ‘OP Bass’, which builds on a solid foundation of classic drum machines and rolling percussion. A catchy little vocal cut kicks off an infectious bass line that is joined by subtle chord stabs before Hurlee seriously turns up the glory with soaring pads that will float you through this groover with a big smile on your face.
‘Frankie Here’ takes us on a journey through shimmering crystal caves. Synth chords with heavy dub delays sparkle left and right as we use the solid groove to guide our steps and we just know we can’t go wrong.

Exclusive: Fred Everything ft. Rise Ashen - Light Of Day (Manuel Tur 2022 Dub)

Canadian artist Fred Everything's Light Of Day gets the remix treatment from none other than German (Deep)-Houser Manuel Tur, who delivers a remix as well as a dub version of the originally in 2004 released track on 20/20 Vision (The Moving version's were even out in 2002). With the result Tur scratches at the door of creating another classic. The bleeping and catchy synth-line combined with the lush and bouncing bass line and also the sparsely used vocals from Rise Ashen in the 2022 dub push listeners and House Music enthusiasts both to their dancing-skills limits. Again Manuel Tur proves how to arrange and use synths in a way that a track turns out to be appealing to smaller as well as bigger crowds without losing the original character and becoming yet another tool to be played.

Fred Everything ft. Rise Ashen's Light Of Day Manuel Tur 2022 Remixes will be released on Lazy Days Recordings on October 7th, 2022.
