Franksen wirkt seit + zwei Dekaden in der elektronischen Musikszene Rhein-Main: als DJ, Producer, Radiostimme, Musikjournalist. Mit der „hr CLUBNIGHT“ war er lange Jahre Host und Resident-DJ der Mutter heimischer DJ-Radioshows. Seine Produktionen gibt es auf Deephouse und Techhouse Labels wie BAR25 Music, Houseworx, Suara, Dieb Audio, Lucidflow und weiteren - auf Vinyl und digital. 

Ende 2022 gründete er sein Deephouse- und Electronica-Label TRACK ALLIANCE. Hier liefert er diverse Grooves von Deephouse und DubTechno zu Downtempo ab. Mit seiner typisch elastischen und dauergroovenden Handschrift, beim Producing wie in seinen Sets. 

Neben den geraden Beats etablierte Franksen in Rhein-Main mit „Knietief In Beats“ (KIB)  eine der dienstältesten Drum-n-Bass Event-Reihen der Nation. Für seinen D&B-Gig im Mainzer „SCHICK“ (230923), und auch sonst für alle relaxten Tage oder Abende, hat er uns für den SCHICKcast eine lässige musikalische Mischung aus Liquid-,  Jungle- und D&B-Classics mit viel Charakter gezaubert. Hier ein paar handverlesene goodies, dort notwendige Gassenhauer – dazu ewig gehütete Dubplates, versteht sich. Ein Mix, der immer wieder begleiten kann. Und wird. DJ set recorded Live at Burning Man 2023 on Thursday for the My Favorite Things camp 8:15 & D. Dust was flying literally everywhere and the energy of the people rolling in made me get a little weird with it. Minimal vibes from start to finish. Enjoy!

Slip into my take on minimal.
It’s mostly modern house music, but people tell me it’s minimal techno too. I’ve called it astral:house and sideways house. It’s deep euphoric dance music, psychedelic, soul-stirring and fun. It’s lush minimal for the dance floor.  

Feel where I’m at with the opening record, then space out with an hour of vibration:appreciation, after which I mix some favourite new minimal records with ultra-special digital waves.  I remember moving to wav format way after most of my dj friends, and feeling old fashioned as I carted my vinyl to our Saturday night residency at Elsewhere Bar on the Gold Coast in the 2000s. Now mixing vinyl feels like coming home, as I don’t have to peer at a screen or get my head around a computer in order to make the mix happen.  Most of my online mixes are spontaneous curations made on Traktor using timecode vinyl & aiff files, so turntables have always been my preference. Living in Australia, shipping costs so much, so obtaining new records is a luxury indeed, especially when you have a family’s needs to consider; it feels so good though, and I love them. We live in order to experiment with crafts, and right now, this is where I am and what I do. 

The last track is a Jules David remix of a Timmus piece they called ‘Deflection Perception’. For a long while I was the only one who had it, as time flew by and the fellas kept creating new masterpieces. I dropped it at Revolver eight years ago and sparks flew.  Both Jules and Timmus have released for Motion:Theory:Music, Ben Abrahams, Jules and my electronic music label.  We’ve made parties and held residencies showcasing underground sound for over 20 years, so this label is a manifestation of that energy and we have more pieces from Jules forthcoming, all remixed by world class international artists.  The vibe in this unique piece of music is a glimpse into Jules’ soul, a beautiful peek indeed. The woman sampled speaks in an Australian accent, and talks of “coming home”. She says: ”the euphoria grew the further I walked…”
