This artist tribute is dedicated to POWEL, a Berlin-based DJ and producer renowned for his exceptional musicality.

With his signature beats, intricate percussion, and bewitching soundscapes, his remixes and productions take listeners on a journey to the very depths of auditory pleasure.

His style can be described as downtempo and relaxing, with some tracks evoking an experimental, or some a lounge-like vibe. Perfect for creating a peaceful background for work or for moments of tranquility.

In this tribute, I have mostly chosen to highlight POWEL's original productions, offering a glimpse into the brilliance of his own sound, rather than simply showcasing his more well-known remixes, that might have a higher popularity.

Hard to believe it’s been half a year since I uploaded my last set on Soundcloud. I’m happy to share this recording from The Bow in Buenos Aires, recorded last month. 

If you’ve been following over the years, it’s no secret that The Bow holds a special place in my heart as one of the best places in the world to play, since the Argentinians are some of the most passionate music lovers I’ve ever seen. 32 hours of travel for a 3 hour set (and 3 steaks) is well worth it, every single time.

Fred und Luna live in a fashion boutique in Karlsruhe/Germany. The two mannequins are the muses of musician, poet and photo and filmmaker Rainer Buchmüller.

Inspired by his mannequin friends and his love for German electronic music of the past decades, Rainer produces music, that he optionally calls Elektrokraut or Krautelektro: a contemporary melange of repetitive rhythms, enchanting melodies, electronic soundscapes and elements of the Krautrock era.

Happy to share a new recording from Kater Blau, Berlin. 

People fly all over the world to go to Kater for a reason. It’s a club focused on the music, focused on the moment, focused on the experience. It attracts the right people, who go for the right reasons. I love playing there. 

This lets me truly DJ in the moment. No thinking, only feeling. And this recording is a slice of what I’m trying to express through music, sitting outside a box: not just house, not just organic, not just progressive, not just melodic house/techno, not just tech house (or deep tech or whatever we call it)…

…a little bit of everything, as long as it flows and we all dance. 

As a side note, I’ve been getting more and more comfortable playing some of my own unsigned productions, so you’ll find a few tunes you haven’t heard from me before.

Thanks to all the happy faces who stayed up all night or who set their dusty alarm clocks to come and dance with us Wednesday morning. Having been on the other side of the speakers for many a sunrise it was a treasured moment to play this music, which holds a lot of emotions for many of us.

We want to thank Fleetwood Mac for the original magic and Robot Heart for creating the opportunity to crank it loud and proud. The edits and remixes included were created by us (Roxanne Roll and Smooth Sailing) and many of our producer friends who we’d like to thank for their work and passion: Psychemagik, In Flagranti, Antenna Happy, Twin Sun, Dean Kenny, Youth Edits, Cosmic Kids and Trail Mix.

Returning to this utopia in the desert is a dream each year. Having the Sunday slot in my mind for weeks had me thinking I would take it easy leading up to it. I was mistaken. Together with Britta, the Happy Camper gato's and our favourite Robot LEN10 we roamed the desert like there was no tomorrow. Ended up having one of the best weeks of my life and happened to be my perfect warm up to play Robot Heart.  Surrounded by some of my favourite humans on the planet the set came together by relying on ease, love and gratitude.  

Much love to all the shiny disco balls dancing all over the bus & the Playa for the warm hearted support and off course the robots for having me and welcoming me and my friends with open arms. I loved it.
