Oh boy, we are excited for this one! We're leaping into Easter weekend with the next instalment of our podcast, which is helmed by no other than Critical Monday label boss Bonnie Spacey. Her label is arguably one of the best in the scene, and we're longtime fans of her trancey dark disco mixes and productions. Needless to say, this one delivers!

My Secret Playground is back with a new look in 2020! With a mixture of playful and contemporary elements, this project has never been heard of before in the neon era. 

Inspired by artists like Damon Jee, Curses, Terr and Darlyn Vlys, Florian (aka My Secret Playground) has gone back to his 80s roots with ‘Innerspace’. The Mix features the remix "Una Moneda Para Ti" by ITALO BRUTALO.  It's a part of My Secret Playgrounds new Single, released May 21st on Music for Clubs. Funky indie dance beats paired with Latino and male stereo types.

The story of the track pays homage to the 80s and the music video shows how well Florian pays his musicians 😉

Counterterraism Guest Mix 120: My Secret Playground

Light up the party torches! Hailing straight from Berlin, we booked the magnificent Shirkaya for our 99th edition. Dark disco stalwarts Shirley Shot and Kataya have been performing together for a while now, and their chemistry provides plenty of amazing mixes. This one's not an exception! Flying Horstman is an Austrian DJ and promoter. He is the founder of the Graz collective Electric Magic Disco Bongo. His sets are loaded with Italo Disco, Dark Disco, Cosmic and Space Disco as well as some tropical grooves. Not only he’s making a name for himself as a DJ, but also as a promoter. In Vienna and his hometown Graz, the name Flying Horstman and Electric Magic Disco Bongo stands for driving disco nights with bookings from all over Europe.

This song is essentially a direct sequel to "Neon Cathedral." Essentially, the neon cathedral you are accustomed to visiting has been destroyed, along with the rest of the cyberpunk realm you or whatever imaginary character resides in and all that's left are the memories of what used to be. It's in the key of F# minor and uses much of the same progression as Neon Cathedral, except it's even darker and faster with a pace of 105 bpm. This song is pure synthwave goodness.
